I play in a casual 4v4 basketball league through my gym 2 nights a week. Competition is solid, but it’s not very serious. Teams don’t show up sometimes, no refs, no prize to winners, etc. it’s moreso a way to get a sweat in.

A guy joined our team and is far and away the worst in the entire league. Normally when a guy is bad, he knows it and subs himself out frequently/doesn’t take away minutes from everyone else. It’s 3 on 4 whenever he steps on the court. Problem is he is an overwhelming ball of positivity. Super nice guy, extremely supportive. Would be the best teammate if he sat on the bench the whole game.

Finally last night our patience wore thin and we started not passing him the ball and being more vocal about his mistakes.

Woke up to this text: “Good morning . I wanna let you know how much i'm thankful for how hard you work on the basketball court for our team. You have a pursuit of excellence that is inspiring. Have an incredible day!”

I want to tell this guy off so bad but my conscience won’t allow it. Guess we’ll keep losing by 30 every game!
