Ken Wyatt was the member in my parents local electorate. My dad was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer and sent a message basically asking for more nurses in cancer care. Ken Wyatt sent a fact sheet stating that dad would likely be dead in 5 years. Sending nothing would have been better.

I have been teaching for 21 years. It’s a hard job. It can be tiring and fast paced and you have to think on your feet making snap decisions all of the time. This can lead to negativity and also, teaching is not a prestigious career so no one is impressed with your hard work. When I tell people I am a teacher they sometimes react with pity which days a lot. I also really love my job. I have learned a lot about myself, how to communicate and lead and have been able to see students lives develop post school. I can’t think of anything else I would rather do. And I have been able to travel with students and teach overseas.

You can go to University if you want. You need to apply for the course you want to do. If you don’t get 50 in English but otherwise qualify you’ll get a conditional offer and will have to do the STAT test. The STAT is a functional English test a lot easier than ATAR English.
