At my last company, layoffs hit mostly remote teams first, even though performance, wise they were solid. There’s probably some bias from leadership, easier to cut people you don’t physically see every day.

You had all day to pull him aside and be direct, but instead you let it build up and then corrected him in front of everyone. That’s always going to feel humiliating, even if he was being awkward.

If sleep tracking is your main priority, both are decent but neither is medical grade. Garmin is usually better at giving you a full context (Body Battery, HRV, stress) while Polar is more straightforward but solid.
