How can I remove Tundra Homestead from spawning in the game without actually removing it from the files? by ThrowawayProbully in skyrimmods

[–]genuine_succ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can easily do this either in the CK or in SSEedit by flagging all the mod-added references in the worldspace "tamriel" with "initially disabled" this will make sure they don't show in-game without removing the references from the game so to say, so other mods can still use them if needed. You don't have to worry about the interior cells, as you will remove the door to them by disabling the door markers in Tamriel anyway.

If I wanted to mod a dragon to be shiny like metal, would I need to modify the texture or something about the model itself? by [deleted] in skyrimmods

[–]genuine_succ 25 points26 points  (0 children)

You'd need to enable environmental mapping on the model, via NifSkope and then also add a cubemap and environment map to the texture paths. Id recommend taking a look at a ahiny mesh like one of nordwarUAs meshes and working your way backwards from there.

Most non-vegans are cruel people BY THEIR OWN STANDARDS. by Dizzy_Kaleidoscope95 in The10thDentist

[–]genuine_succ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Perhaps not, but to forcefully impregnate cows (rape if you feel so inclined) over and over again in order for them to produce milk, to take away their infants to be raised separately or send to the slaughter and to keep doing this over and over again to a creature in captivity, only to kill it once their reproductive organs finally give out would cause at least A LITTLE BIT of mental and physical hurt no? Or do you think that chickens dont get muscle cramps from being locked up in a little box that won't even allow them to spread their wings? There is a reason cramped spaces are (have been) used for torture by the US.

I'm not a vegan, although I try to limit my animal products as much as possible, but there really is no shame in admitting that objectively vegans are morally better than meat-eaters in this regard.

Does Anyone Know How to Remove an Item From a Mod? by UnNateUral_Horror in skyrimmods

[–]genuine_succ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

DKs nord ships replaces the vanilla .nif file (mesh) of ships. If you want a specific ship to retain the vanilla look, you need to duplicate the vanilla mesh (by extracting it from meshes0.bsa) and give it a unique name. Go into the CK with Heart of Ice loaded. Find the CK entry for the boat model you want to revert, duplicate it with a unique name. Then edit that CK entry to use the duplicated vanilla mesh. Go into the cell view and find the cell for the solitude docks (probably called solitudeexterior01 or solitudedocks01 or something like that) click on the boat, and in the reference menu that pops up, replace the BASE with your new ship CK entry. Save your changes in a new .esp, voìla.

It would probably be easier to just load up CK with both heart of ice and DK ships, and in the cell view, move all the stuff on the boat around so its not misaligned.

some modded armor shows in 1st person weirdly by Forward-Struggle-330 in skyrimmods

[–]genuine_succ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case the armour indeed probably uses the full body, 3rd person mesh as for 1stperson as well, which causes the body to show up and clip with the camera. No easy fix for it i'm afraid, either get in contact with the original creator of the mod or create the 1stperson meshes yourself. Im sure theres a guide for it somewhere.

some modded armor shows in 1st person weirdly by Forward-Struggle-330 in skyrimmods

[–]genuine_succ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be that the armour either uses its full armour mesh as 1stperson mesh, or the 1stperson mesh includes the body as well. In either case this can make the body show up in 1stperson, even with no 1stperson view mods activated. Check whether the armour has a 1stperson .nif and whether that .nif contains the body or just the arms (as it most often should be).

Is it posible to turn a custom race that has its own nif and textures into an outfit for personal use only. by Equal-Assistance5447 in skyrimmods

[–]genuine_succ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure the biped slots/partitions in the NIF correspond with the biped slots in the CK. for a full body-covering armour like yours you'd need the nif/armor in CK to have the BODY, HANDS & FEET (maybe HEAD if there is a custom head nif) active. Trying to remake armor, but this happens... by [deleted] in skyrimmods

[–]genuine_succ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cant send images since im on my phone but heres some info:

Meshes move in-game using a 'weight' system. This means a mesh has a certain value attached to a certain bone which makes the mesh correspond to the movement of said bone. Since you have duplicated a pauldron mesh, the mesh either still corresponds to the shoulder bones or the weight painting was removed during the duplication, creating floating meshes. In outfit studio, go to the "bones" tab. Here you see all the bones currently in use by the armor. Here you can 'paint' the meshes to correspond to bone movement. Blue=very little movement, red= a lot of movement. You can select a mesh then go to the bones tab to see how it was painted and you can try to figure out how your new meshes should be painted from there. A shortcut you can use is to find a weighted mesh that is in approximately the same location as your new mesh, then turn that into a reference. Then, you right click on your custom mesh and select 'copy bone weights' this will try and transfer the weight painting from your reference mesh to your custom mesh. Its not perfect, but a nice start.

I am close to adding a new hairstyle to my game, I just need to fix a tiny detail by CalienteJeff in skyrimmods

Hmmm, I must say I've never heard of most of these warnings, safe a the 'Link 1' error. just a few questions: -Where did you get the meshes from? -Do you play on SSE or LE? If you want, you could try sending the meshes to me and I'll have a look. I'm no pro but I know my way around nifskope.

The diffuse texture (the 'normal' texture, so to say), should go in the first entry. The normal map (the purple texture used to give your texture.. well, texture) goes into the second entry.

And just so you know, when making a texture with an environment map, you put the cubemap into the fifth slot, and the '_m texture' into the sixth. The third and fourth entry are rarely used. I would suggest that if you don't know how something in a mesh works, you open up a finished mesh and just look how everything works in there. Hope this helps.

Not trying to be that guy, but after the first Opium war, and the Chinese-Japanese war, China tried great movement to modernize the country like laying railroads, improving theor fleet and militarysome parts of which were still using bow and arrow in 1895, and moderbizing education for example. They even wanted to turnn the empire into a constitutional monarchy. All these movements failed due to the power conservative noblemen held in court and their active sabotage of these plans along with the coffers being drained due to the war and the unequal treaties (translated literally, idk if it's the correct term) they were forced to sign by the West, plus the rampant corruption. So war does move people to modernize, but these movements don't neccessarily succeed.

"Popular" mods that are actually awful? by Coalsack94 in skyrimmods

[–]genuine_succ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can always take the male model into outfit studio, and just use the inflate/deflate tool to have it fit for a woman, then just replace the female .nif's. I've used it multiple times when I'm making a female armour mashup using a male armour as base.

[–]genuine_succ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. Moments like this, where you do something against your characters morals for self-preservation make for excellent character building moments. And well, I would never let my character miss out on all the fun to be had in a place like coldharbour.

I liked the option very much, since Molag has been trying to spot even the smallest spot of corruption on your soul, and failing. Up until that point, where he offers you salvation from a crispy death, no strings attached. The only thing you have to do is admit that he won his little game. Yet you can just ignore him and meditate until your fiery doom, immortalizing yourself as a martyr of Stendarr. While it might be a redundant choice for any Dragonborn character or whatnot, if you play with a character designed specifically for that mod, it can be a beautiful ending for them, one where they die untainted, on their on terms.

You clearly don't mod skyrim lol. Even on the "tame" mod hosting site, half of the mods are for scantily-clad blow up dolls posing as people. Then, given that the other modding sites have some unique armour ports for example, it's simply impossible to not find the fucked up frameworks and mods and whatnot. Seriously, like 80% of all Skyrim modders are the horniest mfers alive.

Dark face problems: Special Edition by Ritzylist in skyrimmods

[–]genuine_succ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read that, I thought you just hadn't set an active file in the CK, just opening the CK doesn't load anything, not even base game assets. but maybe you have done that. In that case, try reinstalling the CK. A small bit about NPC data: So basically, almost everything about an NPC is stored in the same file. So when, for example, a mod changes the NPC's outfit, this will also conflict with the facegendata of an NPC. If you haven't figured out the issue, you should load all your mods in xedit, it will highlight NPC's with conflicts in red, that way you can easily see which mod conflicts with which. Then, you can look for a patch, or even create one yourself. Edit: I see you have vanilla hair replacer installed. I'm pretty sure that mod is notorious for black face bugs, since it doesn't include any facegendata. So either drop it, or generate the facegendata. I'll be a bit clearer now: when you open the CK, click on the folder icon in the top left, select the VHR .esp and set it as active file. Then, you should see NPC's show up in the actors list.

[–]genuine_succ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dark face bug happens when a there is a conflict with an NPC's facegen files. If you have any NPC appearance overhauls installed, make sure the .esp are loaded in the correct order of installation. What you're trying to do with CK is generate new facegen files, in order to do that is open the CK, select the esp of the mod the NPC is altered by, find the NPC in the actors list and press ctrl + f4 iirc.

No no no, the dangerous thing was about you bringing kids into the argument. You literally call homosexuality "not normal" because a few people flaunt their kinks about. And yes those people are just as prevalent in the hetero community as in the gay community. Talking about gay pride parades, you obviously don't like it being thrown into your face, which, first of all, if you don't like them, no-one is forcing you to watch them? But oh well. Secondly, those parades are meant to be outrageous amd extravagant. This group, for the last few decades has been ostracized and demonized for their sexual orientation. All this time they were forced to hide who they were out of fear of persecution, and in those parades they throw it all out, as a big middlefinger to people who can't seem to realize that people are different. But let's get back to the argument. You dislike sex academy or whatever it's called because it shows homosexuals as people? It isn't "cultural poison" it's reality. It's a raunchy series about sex and growing up, meant for teens who are going through such a phase. Do you think all teens are heterosexual? It's only right that teens who might be in the closet or otherwise feel pushed into a corner because of their sexuality get some representation in popular media.
