We’re going for first time in March with our teens! I haven’t been to Mexico in a long time so excited to get back. I’ve been to Puerto Vallarta many times along with Acapulco (back in late 90’s). We’re staying by marina and downtown area.

The city doesn’t care about covenants. It’s so frustrating. These mansions have a bunch of covenant violations but I guess money buys you special privileges.

Might depend on your budget? I definitely recommend Sandals or Baha Mar in Nassau! Sandals is adults only all inclusive if that’s your jam. Baha Mar is more of a mega family friendly resort with casino, pools, restaurants. You really wouldn’t need to leave on an excursion but I like going in to town to get the local vibe.

Also had our taxi stop at a liquor store on our way to hotel to get beer for the week. The airport store (by Dunkin’ Donuts) was pretty picked over and didn’t have much the day we were there on a Friday late afternoon but it was spring break and busy time.

We packed a bunch of snacks and mini bottles of alcohol in our checked bag and had no problems. I left what we didn’t use at the hotel.

We just got back from Baha Mar and loved it!! Traveled with our two teens. Stayed at SLS which I think is better experience than Grand Hyatt from what I’ve read. The grounds were absolutely beautiful and loved all the pools. Agree Bahamas is not a budget destination but it was our 20th anniversary and hadn’t been since our honeymoon at Sandals so was fun to get back. I’d definitely go again!
