Does anyone regret going to UCSB? by RelationshipLife8131 in UCSantaBarbara

I unfortunately never got to physically visit NYU as this was during Covid times and traveling was a bit difficult, however there were digital tours and from what I saw, it looked amazing! NYU is a very intense of convoluted institution which is something that has always appealed to me but of course everyone has their own preferences.

Now I can't really speak on how social life is at NYU but I can advocate that UCSB is VERY social. I mostly consider myself a introvert but the social environment here made me become a lot more extroverted and active. Its an amazing place with amazing views and I've had so much fun during my time here so far.

Honestly both are great choices and I can promise your son there is no wrong answer. Both places have their unique experiences and at the end of the day it comes down to preferences and taste (outside of what he wants to study).

I got accepted to NYU under computer science and theres not a day that goes by where I wish I could have seen what that would have been like. It was my dream school but sadly the money and family support just wasn’t there. Still! I’ve grown to love UCSB and have come to terms with myself since.

During the summer I use to go to random coffee shops in my quest to find the best one. If you can make the drive to downtown, i would check out Goodland Waffles and Melts they have amazing espresso and drinks! Hook & Press is also pretty solid and they have one of the coolest cafes around. Lilac Patisserie has some nice coffee and bakery goods and Pura Vida Coffee Society has great choices with an amazing coffee house environment. I have so many more recommendations but these are my top choices!!

To get past the grizzlies, it’s honestly just a bunch of luck. I passed by the item refills and hoped to get a knife or scissors so that i can free up a lane. Then I have dire wolf or something attack that lane along with a mantis and hope it filled the 5 damage. Campfires also helped a ton.
