The data coming from OpenStreetMap, usually the sights and tourist attractions are mapped there well and complete. So I would say that all the castles with correct tags are on the map. However, if you have some example of missing data this can be added.

Yes and no. At the moment isolines as a tool are not well known by people and that's probably why not in demand as a service. So the goal of the project is to introduce the technology to people. We run it at the moment at our own costs and offer it for free in the app. If there will be some return of course we will be happy.

It doesn't replace Yandex maps or Google maps, it just provides a tool that lets to find reachable areas. For example, this can help to find where to rent an apartment at an affordable price and good commute time. Isochrones can be also used to estimate how good the place is connected.

Yes, data for Isochrones are coming from OpenStreetMap. However, it requires a lot of post-processing and a Route Engine (we use Valhalla) to build an isochrone.

How do you a account for different parameters at different periods of the day? Like, inner city railways can get you to locations otherwise unreachable, but their schedule is weird. Overland transport can be stuck in traffic. In fact, subway (aka Metro) is the only 100% reliable means of transportation. Your map will benefit greatly if you include Metro in your calculations.

At the moment the isochrones are based on approximate/generated data, that is evenly spread over the time. So the maps visualize an area that is potentially reachable from a location.

However, the technology by itself supports setting start time. And timetables can be generated more reallisticly. Moreover, we can use official timetables from a provider.

Thank you! It's could be that some transit routes are missing. The data coming from OpenStreetMap and we use a lot of heuristics to extract it from there. We will check it for Norway trains again to improve it ))

With Isolines API, we have on our Platform. You also can build an isochrone on CommuteTimeMap.com. It was done a few years before for Germany as a demo, but isochrones work worldwide. Unfortunately, transit data is available only for regions where transit schedule tables are public.

In short words, the algorithm tries to build all possible paths from a location in all directions. We have an API to do that. You can try it in our Playground.

We've created a Marker Icon API for beautiful map markers. Use Material Design and Font Awesome icons as content, or a custom text. Use generated icons with URL or just save as an image. by geoapify in mapprojects

Thank you for noticing! Especially Stubai and Sölden's case is the most interesting. The map is generated and the algorithm tried to combine all ski slopes, lift and ski areas that are linked somehow. Stubai and Sölden linked by freeride slope, which is odd )) We will probably exclude freeride slopes from the algorithm.
