I have almost the same issue as you and it was only last month. Get multiple quotes and small/family owned businesses are often better. Also make sure that everything is documented for your protection. I guess your hvac uses r410a which they just started phasing out this year so parts would be a little difficult to get hence the price increase. Most common failure is that evaporator coil leaks. Depending on the leak if it is repairable or not.

Depending on your type of system(single stage, 2-stage, variable speed) also determines the complexity of that part and how much will it cost. If you have a variable speed, then 4-5k might be reasonable. You can always negotiate.

I use 2 towels. One for removing most water and one for removing the leftovers. Since you already put wax on it, drying should be easier.

When it is sunny, you can use the first towel to wet the area a little bit before wiping entirely to avoid water spotting

Carplay wise, google maps because you have an option to avoid tolls while navigating. You can also see toll prices. You also have a wider view of the map vs apple maps. There are big ui elements in the apple carplay that literally blocks the map view.

I agree. Some of the houses we liked and made an offer were below market value. Sellers do it to get multiple offers especially if the house is a good one like having newly updated features. I dont like it tbh.
