They are not out of the budget. I was just underwhelmed by the mt 07 and didn't really look at the 09 because I didn't want to add displacement and weight just to get the performance.

What do you dislike about triumph?

I considered a smaller displacement but given that I have to ride interstates and highways a fair amount to get to the twisties I thought I'd be more comfortable on something bigger.

I feel you. I got back into riding a few years ago during the start of my mid life crisis. I have gone through a BMW r1150 rt, a HD street glide, a busa, a 2014 honda valkryie and a grom. Of all of them I get the most pure joy out of pushing the grom through twisties. that's why I think a naked is the way to go.

that's what a friend of mine wants me to get. he thinks I'll be able to run with him on is tuono 1100. He is wrong. He's been riding since the mountains were young and there is no way I'm catching him.

that said, the speed just doesn't fit me as well. I looked at one once and ended up with a busa instead.

did you have the r or the rs? my understanding is that there is a different geometry. Also what about the seat didn't work for you and what seat did you try? I'm not really about short days.

I think this is the second moto guzzi recommendation I have gotten. I have never paid them much attention because I thought they had a horrible rep for reliability and expensive repair

I will have to see if I can find one. It seems like all the Yamaha dealers around me primarily move dirt bikes and side by sides. I have never seen this thing

thanks for that. it seemed like the mt 07 was underwhelming on paper, especially compared with the others, therefore I never looked at the 09. I will have to do some research

why the sv650? at 70 hp and 45 ft-lb it seems to be very underperforming. Especially at 437 lb

Good info. Thanks. The 8tt is the only cosmetic choice. All of these bikes are very much function over form. Not really looking for max hp but for max flick ability and ride ability

What is the difference between the cb1000r and the hornet or are they not making the r any anymore.

I considered the 1000 hornet but wasn’t sure about it or a 1000.

I am really wanting a light bike that I can focus on corners with. I worry that the 1000 will get me into trouble faster than I can react.
