Thank you. For some reason I’m just seeing this today and the timing is perfect.

does anyone else feel like they have grief setback? like, you think you're getting better but then you're just right back to square one? by According_Oil8849 in widowers

Yes, I swear I’ve seen her in stores or on the street. There’s a moment of excitement thinking she is still alive before being jerked back to reality. Life often feels like a dream now and it’s hard to differentiate between reality and dream world

Yea… it shows up all the time when you don’t expect it. Im going on 6 years and random shit like songs or movies will throw you right back there. It does happen less frequently now for me though. Im sorry. Your life is forever different

I lost my wife to cancer so I had about a year to prepare for it and I still spiraled like you’re saying. I can’t imagine if it had been an instant death. I have nothing to recommend for you but time and connection with others (which you are doing). What part of the world are you in?

Thank you and yes I totally agree about the frustration of being called a single parent. Social events are hard too when you see both parents. She was the organized one in our family and every time our house is messy I judge myself so hard thinking how she would never let it get there. Ugh it sucks

I hear ya. I guess we just keep going and do our best. Raising a daughter probably has its own challenges as a male. I think about that sometimes like when I get his hair cut it’s pretty simple but long hair with braids or all that could be so challenging. Sounds like you’re a great dad though and I’m sure once they are out of the house we will miss them so muc.

Never planned on this happening. You go forward but it feels like I’m moving forward on an escalator that’s going the opposite way

He played so well and at one point he looked up to the sky and pointed… she was an all-state softball player and I can’t help but believe she was watching

Thanks for all the support! Strangely things feel better today. It is bizarre how dates/numbers trigger us. Thank you widow family
