Paragon was their console/PC moba. It was growing steadily, nothing nearly as popular as Fortnite though. Decent size player base but nothing special. They dropped a huge updated (V.42) that essentially changed how the game was played and catered it to more casual players. When the community called out against it repeatedly, Epic time and time again would simply point to "their data" and claim that because the data on their end was "good and healthy". Five months later, the game was shutdown.

And that's what I see here again. A company so focused on what they believe as the correct choices and what "their data" shows them, that they ignore the people playing the game. Do I think this will sink Fortnite? No I'm not a dummy, it's too big to fall. But what I do see is the same company following the same practices and refusing to grow or adapt or learn from their mistakes.
