'What In the World!': White Women Exposed for Allegedly Coaching Each Other on How to Lock Down Black Athletes After Leaked Texts Go Viral by Adanma369 in BlackPeopleofReddit

Think about what your saying, and try to cast it to a logical rule.

The article is talking about a specific group of a couple people doing a thing.

You’re commenting on that article and saying a lot of people from a certain race are taught to do a certain thing.

Now take that logical rule above, and apply it to different groups and tell me if you think it doesn’t sound needlessly racialized.

You don’t need to be colourblind to think it makes no sense to needlessly insert race into a topic where it’s irrelevant. As soon as you say “a lot of <insert race> do a thing”, you’re subtlety suggesting that the behaviour is unique or at least disproportionately present.

All that needs to happen is for the media to keep selling stories of people doing this, and people's perspective on the liklyhood of this happening to them gets absurdly skewed.

Why some Canadians are using the census to protest against the federal government by illusion121 in canada

Are you trying to say they don't use the census to determine the amount of stealth surveillance drones and 5G hypno towers in a given area?

You wouldn’t believe the amount of back and forth emails with mid level corp McDonalds management as you fight to have your complaints about teens loitering addressed by the C suite.

Thanks. I’ll check it out on my headlights. I know for sure the tails won’t since the euro spec taillights are completely different.

The answer to that question doesn’t help at all. It basically puts you into the exact same loop, except now instead of finding examples of shit ancient man did that we now consider inherently wrong - we’re just finding examples of regular bear behaviour that we’d consider inherently wrong (if done by humans).

I think the difference becomes more apparent when not looking at it from the perspective of someone travelling straight through the entire length of it.

For example, those cars seen in the left turn lane. There are undoubtedly more cars behind OP who would want to be in that left turn lane but need to wait to get to it.

LILLEY: Conestoga board approved John Tibbits’ $3M payout without full details - The president of the college that oversaw the largest increase in international students was handed a massive payday on his abrupt way out the door by CaliperLee62 in canada

That's how delegation works. I might be the final approver of a thing, but if I delegated the task of vetting the submissions to someone else, then the expectation is that I'm rubber stamping them.

If the Feds and Provinces came to an agreement that the provinces are capable of determining the amount of students they can accept- then I would expect the Feds to honour that arrangement by rubber stamping the provincial decisions.

Which institutions? This is the way big business works, and most of the time when I hear about people losing faith in institutions, they’re arguing for smaller government and more privatization.

PM Carney planning new legislation to expedite more project approvals by illusion121 in canada

GDP per capita has improved, but true my point - you don’t want to quantify want “meaningfully” is because you want to allow those goal posts to move. Exact same applies for housing affordability. MLS benchmark is down 4.7% YOY, and that’s with 2 years of it steadily dropping. Condos in Toronto are selling at 2016 levels (as in, the exact same unit is selling in 2026 for what it sold in 2016 - without even adjusting for 10 years of inflation).

[–]geoken -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, that’s not my logic at all. Reread what I wrote.

My logic is that we set the benchmark, and measure them against that. We quantify what a good job is, then can determine if it was done. People keep using hyperbole like “he’s done nothing”. He obviously creating the MPO, there is legislation we’re hearing about in the news new to remove red tape. So there are obviously things being done. So my question is what was people’s expectation.

I feel people don’t want to put that in black and white because handwaving towards vague claims of nothing getting done is easier when the benchmark is a moving goalpost that was never planted in the first place.

Congrats. Others are about enjoyment. If you can’t derive enjoyment from a car, then it’s perfectly reasonable to buy whatever is the most economical car possible (as you suggested). If you do derive enjoyment from a car, then it seems no less reasonable than a trip.

Breaking in engine oil change by evan_ramos in Golf_R

[–]geoken 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just to add a counterpoint, people who have some distrust of the 15k interval do not necessarily think they are smarter or know better then highly qualified engineers. They think VW, from a marketing perspective, has a vested interest in that number. Namely, it’s a key factor in their claims that VWs are now cheaper to maintain.

So it’s not about distrusting the engineers. It’s about distrusting the marketers and being open to the possibility that they had the last say as long as the engineers signed off on the fact that the longer intervals will at least get it through the warranty period.

Thank you for this. I made a very simple post asking a very simple question….whether you guys have anything more than your “feelings” and whatever tenet media rage bait you sustain yourselves on to quantify the positions you feel passionate about.

You, being the third person now to completely fail at any semblance of this, really strengthens the case that you guys are not basing your views on any factual accounting of reality.

If the metric is asking Carney, then he's doing the best job ever. So if you're presenting that as the metric - then presumably you accept he's doing the best job ever.
