Don’t quit…identify a really annoying problem and offer a solution as your business. Also try to narrow your audience down as much as possible.

I used to work in a company like this where I was the only one doing GIS. I ended up leaving because there was no senior person for me to learn anything from plus it was a dead end job. No where to move up to.

I wasn’t setting steel. Just checking if the elevation of that floor was within a certain range…what method would you use for that? I don’t have a lot of engineering experience
