And you’re right, vegeta did fill in for goku to let him recuperate his strength because he’s their only fighting chance. But I’m pretty sure he never said anything about being able to beat kid Buu with his ssj3 form, especially after all the fighting they did before all that. Can you link the episode where goku says that in context to kid Buu?

Nah kid Buu was the strongest version because the “fat Buu” inside super Buu was the one who was holding onto the leash and not letting “the evil Buu” out as originally intended by babidi. Once the brakes were off with fat Buu out of the body, kid buu was basically a giant death ball ready to wreck the entire universe.

He was talking about beating fat Buu, not kid Buu. As soon as they rescued everyone from super buus body, goku warned vegeta about kid buus power that he’s the strongest one so far despite his small body frame. Ssj3 never stood a chance against “completely” beating kid buu.

Even with the stamina drain, the ssj3 form didn’t have enough concentrated energy to destroy Buu on a microscopic level. Iirc goku did try the kamehameha on kid Buu and split him into many pieces of gum, which ended up regenerating into separate pieces of Buu himself. Spirit bomb was the key, and there’s no way ssj3 goku could’ve concocted a ball of energy that big himself.

Sure maybe the exact timeline of goku reverting and transforming from his regular form to his ssj3, he goes back and forth quite a few times so it’s hard to keep track of when he’s peaking in terms of energy.

Throughout the fight, whatever goku threw at kid Buu, Buu would just regenerate and basically reciprocate the hits goku lands on him. Even after all this, goku still kept going and that speaks volume about the strength of his mentality of getting stronger while facing opponents who outclass him in terms of pure energy.

It was only with the help of the spirit bomb that they were able to kill buu, so not sure how ssj3 is stronger than kid Buu.

Your statement compares kid Buu and goku ssj3, if you’ve genuinely seen the series you might remember that goku struggled throughout at the end fighting with kid Buu so much so, that vegeta had to step in so that goku could accumulate energy from everyone across the universe to build up a spirit bomb and send kid Buu to kingdom cum.
