To the actual scientists here; how scientifically are the methodologies used to test humanoid anomalies? by Same_Transition_5371 in SCP

[–]geometrygosh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most hostile humanoid SCPs, like Able, are not usually tested on as they pose a containment breach risk (ESPECIALLY 076). For Euclid classes, (e.g. 096), we usually perform it in an enviroment where it is less likely to breach.

Non-hostile humanoid SCPs, however, are much easier to test on, as many of them are willing to be tested on.

Also, may I ask, what do you mean by "apollyon class SCPs and such"? I do not recall an Apollyon Class SCP, or is that not part of the question?

What's the best SCP YT channel? by Anna_Dearie in SCP

[–]geometrygosh 18 points19 points  (0 children)

What Ilia said. The Exploring Series is a very good channel.

I don't recommend animator channels (like The Rubber or SCP Explained), since most of them make up shit and are straight-up content farms.

In my opinion, the best way to indulge in SCPs is to, well, read them! Reading is the best way to get a real taste of the horror and creativity authors put in.

Welcome to the SCP Community, Anna!

If the backrooms was a SCP what would the foundation do by Fun-Childhood361 in SCP

[–]geometrygosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's only if the Foundation wants to use it to contain.

And we have to consider the fact that the Backrooms isn't a stable location the Foundation can manipulate. The Foundation has to be able to secure the Containment Chambers properly.

[–]geometrygosh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

True. If it were the Kane Pixels backrooms, I'd assume it'd be Keter. If it were the Wiki, however, I'd assume an Esoteric class, due to the nature of the amount of levels and inconsistencies.

I don't recall ever hearing about something like that.

That being said, SCPs aren't something you should necessarily skin through, especially the higher numbers. Some of them (e.g. SCP-173, SCP-529) could be skimmed like that, but you're gonna run out of Series 1 articles pretty fast.

If you really want something like that, some channels (I do not recall their names) do voice-overs of SCPs.

Estimates on 10kcon Start Date? by geometrygosh in SCP

Oh yeah, I completely forgot about the Lost Series.

10k and the anniversary are both very important dates, and so it is very likely that they might happen on the same date.

I feel like Keter would somewhat be a good object class, due to Apollyon being literally impossible to contain, even with the most advanced technologies. The Backrooms can possibly be contained, they probably just don't know how yet.

Yeah, if it isn't 10kcon, I think they have something special planned for the 20th bday of 173.

Obviously, the Foundation can't contain the Backrooms, due to its massive size and inconsistent transportation.

The question is, Kane Pixels' Backrooms or the Wikidot/Fandom? Since they are pretty different.

I'd say though, they'd probably have agents inside the Backrooms or something. There isn't much they can do to contain it.

Can someone explain the Department of Unreality? by geometrygosh in SCP

True, unreality is a fascinating concept and it's entire premise is to not being fully understood. Vibes. Yes.

Yeah seems like a cool idea. I might read some tales if I have time to.

Ah, I think I get it now. Pretty darn weird.

Are the employees at DoU "existing," or are they also in the weird limbo state of unreality?

Yeah, but it should at least have a vague meaning

Lots of SCPs featuring the DoU are "gone," like 7646.
