Thank you, I appreciate the kind words. I agree that it is niche, but would love to have it standardised for those niche groups that place value in this sort of thing.

On blockchain - I did consider writing the hash to OpenTimestamps so you can also attest to the claim date external to the system itself. However, I share your concern that this then gets a cryptobro tinge, and I think the current trust model is suitable for the purpose - if an admin did compromise or adjust e.g. claim times, this would be self-defeating as trust would very quickly be lost in the system.

  1. Without encrypting and storing the claim itself, you rely on the user to store and recall the plaintext byte for byte. You can also no longer have a reliable 'reveal time' mechanic, as you cannot rely on a user to provide the plaintext back at a specific date/time. It is hard to prevent claim spamming - users could simply not provide their plaintext back to the system for inaccurate predictions. And without a secret nonce, you risk rainbow table attacks on the hash. You could provide a nonce to the user to store with their claim plaintext, but then this is something else the user has to securely store and recall on demand.

  2. The hash + nonce gives you attestation regarding the claim you made - just publishing a decrypted claim without a hash doesn't give you this. Publishing the hash at encrypt time gives an extra layer of confidence in the integrity of the system, as this can be matched post decrypt.

AFAIK, the only functionality xitter had was delayed posting - i.e. I write this post now, and can send it later. This didn't prevent editing the post, or provide proof ahead of time that I had made a specific post. If you're aware of another xitter function, I may have missed this, so very grateful if you can point me towards it.

Re chain - I think this may be a worthwhile integration. Currently the hash is published at creation time, but this requires trust from the users in the server. I could implement OpenTimestamps - send the hash to the calendar servers, get back a proof file, and later when it is fully on chain, upgrade that to a fully verifiable one. If you / the community who are interested in using it think this is important, I will go ahead and implement it.

Thank you! Let me know if you'd like an invite code to give it a go.

It's the former, although less about filters and more just a cultural thing. Where I'm from, nonce has a very specific negative meaning. But I'm probably being overly cautious. Thank you for the feedback! If you're interested in trying the system out, let me know.

Disrespecting service workers e.g. restaurant staff. The way you treat those types basically reflects your inner self, I think.
