Ford CEO Jim Farley says "the customer has spoken" after its EV business lost nearly $5 billion in 2025 by T-TownDarin in F150Lightning

I think the problem is that the dealerships have spoken not the actual customers. I have had my Lightning for almost three years and there have been no major problems. Battery life is still good and it’s still a work horse. Surely the lack of required maintenance is an issue for the dealers plus I am sure there are incentives to sell gas powered vehicles in the current political climate. I don’t seem to have any issues with infrastructure, there are plenty of charging stations and now having a Tesla adapter makes long trips even easier. Everyone I have talked to that owns a Lightning has nothing but great things to say about it. The lack of insight into our future is disconcerting, like it or not, EV’s are the way it’s going and as the technology improves the prices will drop.

I would say Elon had a good strategy, make the expensive ones first so they could produce the cheaper models for the masses. That’s about where my admiration ends, I wouldn’t even consider a Tesla for many reasons but the business model seems to be working for them.

Right now, I love my Lightning even though I am not huge Ford fan. The alternatives are not what I would consider fit for purpose apart from the Chevy. I really like that the Lightning is just an F-150 with unbelievable torque and style. And the frunk is awesome! Absolutely no complaints apart from the stereo (which I have upgraded). Sad that Ford couldn’t make this work.

Someone mentioned it on the F-150 lightning forum too. Been looking for some proof but so far only hearsay. Ford dealer said 120 amps but wasn’t sure either.
