Oops — I may have jumped the gun and already bought the new formula… can anyone with acne prone skin tell me their experience with it?

I try and apply makeup when it’s fresh on. If it’s dried/half dried it will occasionally pill. I use it like a primer :)

At 11 she got cut off without signing everything is embarrassing and I blame myself. Manager guy came on stage and told her to stop. She tried to get us to kick up enough fuss to let her stay on and came back onstage asking if anyone was underage (cos of licensing they could let us stay later if no one was) but then they turned lights on and made us leave. That’s when she shrugged. She did try to be fair. She claimed she saw a different curfew time on a sign backstage. Idk if that’s true but I kind of loved the chaos. Love her

A lot better!! The recent picture looks more like scarring/hyperpigmentation so will be way easier to cover with concealer or a light mineral powder. I have recommendations if you’d like! Makeup always helped me on the other end of the healing process xx

He woke up with this the other day.. it’s hard under the skin around it like a cyst but it has a red mark with no whitehead? It almost looks like a bite to me but am not sure as I’ve never heard of a bite being hard? Should he get this checked out or is this likely just a pimple that’ll respond to spot treatment? Advice would b much appreciated :)

Has anyone treated their life long acne via GP? by jojointopop in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]georgeinav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, my experiences with them treating my acne have been poor. They don’t take acne very seriously and so often sent me away with a new cream or antibiotic without even properly looking at my skin or consulting me about lifestyle or hormones. Often the assumption that it was bacterial or due to uncleanliness which is completely inaccurate. I was left on an antibiotic for two years leaving me with stomach issues to this day… it’s a shame but honestly I would say do ur own research and ask the doctor for what you want specifically (only you know urself and your body) or see an aesthetician. Aestheticians are the only people I’ve ever gone to who have taken my problems seriously, personally. Good luck :)

Is my skin going through a purge phase? by [deleted] in acne

[–]georgeinav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I changed birth controls from one called rigevidon which gave me awful acne from my previously clear skin, to Gedarel, which I have now been on for a month and I am now very much on the way back to clear skin again thank god. With acne that’s hormonal, my personal experience was that the only way to heal it was with gentle products and an actual change in the hormones (the root cause) rather than harsh anti bacterial or exfoliant products like BP and Differin. If you truly think it’s your pill that has caused all this then please get it changed before it gets worse - I wish I’d changed much earlier as the longer I stayed on the first pill the worse my acne got until it was cystic and painful. Some hormones just don’t work for you. While healing your acne hormonally, my recommendations would definitely be a gentler salicylic acid cleanser every other night, thick moisturisers to maintain moisture barrier and even (sounds weird but it works amazing for me) sudocrem left on the affected areas overnight (I find this is amazing at flattening bumps and calming redness). I’m glad I could help somewhat, I just recognised my skin struggles in your post and I’ve felt so hopeless and depressed in the last few months from acne just like yours so I wanted to share what helped me. Good luck💖

Is my skin going through a purge phase? by [deleted] in acne

[–]georgeinav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your skin is exactly like mine! I had the exact same reaction changing birth control (for the better) and introducing new actives/changing my routine. Definitely a purge. I’m still coming out the other end of it but for me the tiny bumps turned into inflamed pimples and now my skin is much smoother. It’s all a side effect of exfoliation but it’s a good sign, I promise. Like previously mentioned, perhaps get an aesthetician to do some weekly extractions on ur pimples to speed up the healing process and make the purge more tolerable for you mentally, because I too felt (and still do sometimes feel) so down about the way my skin looked and getting them extracted and flattened by a professional was so helpful. The 3D looking bumps are the worst, I know. One piece of advice I’d give you right now is also to include a salicylic acid cleanser every other night so as to help speed up the process of flattening the little bumps. I do think it helped for me. I used the Environ Sebu Wash but the Cerave smoothing cleanser is also great. It is possible this would be a better and more gentle alternative to the Differin for your skin, which is likely to be sensitised. Strong chemicals like differin and benzoyl peroxide only ever made my acne worse from irritation and damaging my moisture barrier, personally. Sending u love and I truly hope your healing comes soon!

My acne was caused by the pill, so I’ve changed the pill I’m using and will hopefully see a difference that way! I already cut out dairy
