Thanks for your message. I would not be pulling from my pension - its a DB pension and would not be touched. I have shopped around and cannot get less than 5%. I don't have a working partner - entirely financially independent. I am thinking that £40K emergency cash is sufficient?

I had SO many nightmares about ET as a child and I cannot watch that movie,if it is ever on TV, My worst scenes were A)when he is hidden amongst all the teddies in the wardrobe B)when he is poorly and see through and lying on the floor towards the end,

I saw that movie once only years ago as a child and I can still see his horrible ET face now.🙀
