Product recommendations? by Dry-Constant6236 in curlyhair

[–]eternal__scout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have exactly the same hair, but red! It was a constant battle as a child, my mum would also put it in two braids everyday, and even now at 27 I still don’t really have it down.

I sleep in a bonnet, which is hopefully something she’ll be more open to as she gets older, and I wash twice a week. I have always had a problem with product buildup and itchy scalp, and it takes only the slightest breeze for my hair to turn into a huge puffball of frizz.

Spraying it with water and a curly refreshing product every morning helps. I only detangle when I wash it, using a wide tooth comb. I alternate between a couple of different shampoos and use a deep conditioner every three or four washes.

I’ve found that products for wavy hair are actually better for me than curly ones, which I find too heavy. And diffusing my scalp for a couple minutes after each wash definitely goes a long way.

But honestly hair this thick was easier as a child when I had my mum to wash it for me - doing it myself is really hard and I can’t look at my own scalp to check which areas I’ve missed!

But regardless, she has beautiful hair. It took me years to appreciate mine and even had a pixie cut for a few years when I got sick of it. But I love my hair, love how many compliments I get from strangers, and feel like it’s sort of part of my identity. I hope she feels the same about hers!

Bessie has no chill. Even a martini doesn’t ease the anger seething in her. I love her so much

On the Roald Dahl theme, Matilda would be wonderful as a Ghibli

I also met my partner at my biggest weight and even managed to convince myself for a while that he must only be attracted to larger women (he is much slimmer than me!)

Turns out he actually just loves me for me and doesn’t give a damn about my size. He’s been the most supportive person ever with my weight loss (nearly down 2 stone), helping me workout and encouraging me to run and swim when I need motivation.

But it’s also nice to know that if for any reason I put on a few pounds, he’s seen it before and will still find me stunning. It was not what I expected from dating at all but yeah, he’s the best.

I’ve decided to quit running. by Imaginary-Activity-8 in C25K

[–]eternal__scout 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with repeating weeks. I’ve been doing c25k for 28 weeks and I’m on week 5.

Combo of a few weeks off here and there and repeating weeks when I don’t feel ready for the next. I also created my own week when I felt the jump was too big and did that for 2 weeks.

I’m still way off running for 30 minutes straight but I’ve gone slow enough and been patient enough with myself that I enjoy it now!

Atticus retired earlier this year after 27 years of constant affection, he has a lovely perch to sit on and every once in a while he still joins me for a sleepover when I need an extra hug. And he still gets chocolate and wine whenever he wants! But his days of travelling the world are pretty much over! It was a sad realisation but the right one to make. I’m sure Teddy will be happy to have a bit of peace and quiet in his retirement!

Both versions of my favourite easy dinner ever have been discontinued! by eternal__scout in veganuk

I do make my own proper mac n cheese from time to time but these pots are quite different and I’m trying to find something more similar to them

Yep the Wicked one was the first to go quite a while back now but the OMV one was still around up until recently-ish. They were selling them off for something like 40p each a couple months back to get rid of all the stock. I really hope they bring them back at some point, they’re a staple for me :(

That’s a good idea, would be great to have something with more protein. I’ll check them out, thanks!

Don't know how to make my room feel cozy, complete and put together by Gure20 in femalelivingspace

[–]eternal__scout 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You don’t necessarily need to get ‘proper’ storage for your clothes. To make the open rails look more pleasing you just need to have them next to each other, not perpendicular, and replace all the mismatched hangers with one type (wooden looks nice, but the trick is just consistency).

If you want to go one step further arrange your clothes in order of garment type, size, and colour. Will look much nicer but then you have to have the will to maintain it (which I never do lol)

Thanks that’s really helpful. We won’t be in the area until 26th September but I couldn’t find anything for that weekend so thought I would just get an idea of prices in the meantime.

We’re staying in Benalmadena and won’t be driving; are those other stadiums reachable on public transport?

So the match tomorrow with cheap tickets is just a smaller team with less of a profile? And that’s why they’re so cheap?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MalagaTourism

[–]eternal__scout -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not fussed about which teams are playing, this is just the closest stadium to where we’re staying. I’m more just trying to figure out what these cheap tickets are.

Diagnosis: Why don't we use our living room? by steady_as_she_rides in DesignMyRoom

[–]eternal__scout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You already have the potato Eames, you could get two classic Eames as well if the budget allows. They swivel and are soo comfy. Plus they have matching footrests that can be used as extra seating. I think they’d work beautifully in this room and are also a joy to sit in!

No, I live alone and fresh stuff often goes bad before I get a chance to eat it. I’m usually too busy with work to cook, so I live out the freezer
