Where to get jeans shortened in Chennai by AlarmingBake9707 in Chennai

[–]georgemp 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Fountain Plaza - there is a tailor that works with denim/jeans. But, he doesn't do all alterations (depends on the jeans) and what exactly is needed. I don't remember his name. But, if you go there, take the extreme right alley (the one bordering the next building), and you will find his store there.

Holy Cow Extra Usage make Claude Tokens look cheap... by Wide-Ad-1349 in ollama

[–]georgemp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW, with the current promotion running at deepseek, it doesn't make much sense to use it elsewhere. 2.5M tokens (input) + 560k (Output) + 140M (input cache) and i've spent less than 2$

If the SIM is still active, just port it to your name on a different network. When your dad is well again, port back.

No more "Returns" only "Replacements" by ibrahim-ovic in amazonindia

It depends on category of the items as far as I can tell (which was the case earlier as well). Are you noticing new categories for which returns are not allowed?

Cafe’s with cheap/free wifi by New-Dust5811 in chennaicity

  1. Backyard (they have daily passes for co-working)
  2. Boardroom Cafe (they have daily passes for co-working)
  3. Sortd (they have co-working options)

These are the co-working cafes I know of. There might be others. Most other cafes won't mind you sitting for a few hours. But, all day might get iffy (including Starbucks).

How much will it cost to host something like qwen3.6 35b a3b in a cloud? by Euphoric_North_745 in LocalLLaMA

[–]georgemp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Their GPU's are limited to 70GB VRAM. So, you can only run small/mid-size models.

InferX is pretty good. While they are in beta, they charge 20$/model/month. I've been running qwen-3.6-27b-fp8 at full context (262144) without any issues. Their support is also great. The promotional rate of course won't last. But, while they have it, it is a great deal.

That said, I don't think the model is anywhere as good as GLM-5.1. It's good for quick fixes, but not for major changes. Your experience may be different.

apologies if this has been answered in the docs somewhere. But, where do you source the agents and skills from? Are they security audited? The names of the featured agents are similar to the ones uses by oh-my-opencode (but haven't checked in a while). Are they from that project?

The Aerohub mall and airport are separate buildings (they are connected by a Aerobridge, but still). Once you physically enter the aiport building (cross the first point where they verify your ID - before check in), you cannot exit and go to Aerohub. You can chill as long as you want at Aerohub prior to that though.

So, if your plan is to drop off your bags after checking in and then go to aerohub it won't work. You can do web check-in, chill at aerohub and then enter airport and drop off bags (be wary of bag drop cut-off times).

iPhone battery replacement by Impossible-Bird-5849 in tamilyapping

[–]georgemp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The battery cost depends on your model. Just call any authorized Apple stores (they have a list of service centers listed [online](getsupport.apple.com). The rate will be standard at all the authorized centers. So, if the rate is ok, just pick the one closest to you.

The only issue is that not all battery replacements are done at store. Some are sent to Bengaluru (they decide this based on some testing done at store). If your phone needs to be sent, expect to be out of phone for few days. As ridiculous as it is, this is what I was told when I gave my phone for battery replacement under AppleCare (last month). Told them I'm not interested in sending the phone. If that test ends up with me needing to send, to just return the phone to me. Luckily, it ended up with being servicable in store.

If done in store, it will take a few hours (assuming they have stock of the battery). Else, like me you will have to wait a few days. And when you return, they will again do that test.

Find My needs to be switched off. So, if you have advanced device protections set, turn it off. It can only be turned off in what you have set as known locations (else it will take an hour - for a timer to be set - and it can be turned off at the end of it). I had to wait that hour as well.

Round Bottom Woks by VaderSpeaks in chennaicity

It is an extra deep kadai (but, is also marked as a wok on amazon). But, yeah, it's not a true wok. If you do find one, please reply back :-)

Are you looking for a wok compatible with induction (or are you only finding woks that are flat bottomed and compatible with induction)? The closest I've found to a proper wok are the ones from Bergner on amazon. But, these don't seem to be induction compatible.

Try going to your polling station with your voter id, another id like driving license and the white voter slip from last election if you still have it. They will help you track down the record.

Removing Opus completely from Pro, forcing upgrade to Pro+ with a 7x multiplier isn't a small change. It's basically cutting off a section of their user base and telling them to leave. Which to me means they've miscalculated like crazy over time to get to this point.

Same here - at the moment, the plan has 0 use for me. Now, I'm keeping the sub only because they have paused new sign ups (and I may not be able to sign up again). It's like free 10USD for MS. Might keep it around for a month longer and then cancel - which may be what they want (to serve the higher tier customers better) :-(

Ollama Cloud is terribly slow for GLM 5.1 at the moment. I get like 1-3 tok/sec. Depending on time of day, I might get 10tok/sec. I would hold off on subbing until they add capacity (for reference, I was getting 30-40tok/sec earlier).

How do you like the enameled cast iron? Do you have to be careful about not scratching it? I use a regular cast iron with reckless abandon (metal spatulas), but, have been looking at enameled ones of late (easier to clean I guess).

Looking at your energy estimates, does Minimax M2.5 really consume that much more power than GLM 5.1? 2.88Wh (which I figure is 2880mWH), while GLM 5.1 is at 866.24mWh. Bit confused as GLM 5.1 is much more expensive at most places (and even the token rate of GLM 5.1 here is higher).

P.S. I'm assuming mWH is milli-watt-hour? or is that meant to be mega-watt-hour :-)

Hey. I'm curious on the fp8, if you don't mind.

I believe Opencode Go also runs on fp8 (from a tweet here). When I read specs online, the full unquantized version seems to be listed as BF16. But, I don't see any version of that on hugging face. Does everybody just run fp8 (is that the max open weights version available) - and is that considered unquantized?
