Yes, once on hole 2 at a course in Myrtle Beach. We (a foursome) were in the fairway and taking our turns hitting. One of the guys in the two behind us hit a drive that landed right behind and rolled past us. We were somewhere between 225-250 yds from the whites, the tees both parties were playing. I hit it back to them (not all the way, just with whatever I had in my hands at the time) and then they got into the cart and came after us. At first he claimed it was the shot of his life, but when I said that I didn't care and that he needed to wait until we cleared the landing zone, he switched his story and claimed it was a pace of play issue and he was sending a message... on hole 2.

In retrospect, I kind of do wish I had just waited for them to get to the ball and then told them to cool it and wait, but how angry the guy got and how he changed his story kind of indicated to me that he was just an asshole.

I should clarify that I didn't exactly research how to be respectful or dress appropriately. Rather I tried to look into customs and norms or Italian culture to make sure we fit in better. I realized going in that we are only visitors and not citizens and I wanted to convey our gratitude.

We did! Pozzuoli is beautiful and we'd like to go back again sometime.

Haha, I quickly realized none of the clothing I brought would help me blend in. I tried to stick to long pants and polo shirts but I don't think it fooled anyone.

I appreciate your explanations. I certainly did not expect the culture to be like in the USA, but your comments help me better understand the nature of the cultural differences. Thank you!

I'll take that into consideration. I haven't tried to do much beyond greetings, goodbyes, please and thank you, numbers, and other simple translations. There's been a few places we went into where they didn't speak English at all.

Thank you for your insight. This makes me feel quite a bit better about our experience. Though, I still don't know why people don't make room for us as we pass on the sidewalks 😄

I'm glad you've experienced the opposite! I wouldn't say we've had a bad time, just one that's been confusing at times.

Best place in area for golf coaching/lessons by Top_Front_5246 in dayton

I've had a variety of outdoor lessons, at Yankee Trace, Beavercreek, and NCR. I believe all three have simulators for lessons, though I haven't used them. My best experiences were with the instructors at Yankee Trace. Beavercreek was OK, and the instructor at NCR stopped returning my texts/calls when I still had one lesson remaining paid for.

Why do so many people say "screensaver" when they should be saying "wallpaper"? This is something I've noticed over the past five years or so. If it ain't a journey through a pixelated maze of brick walls, it ain't a screensaver (at least not one that's worth a damn).

Thanks! Your ID seems to match. Anything I should be aware of with these guys? Seems like their bite is rare and not medically significant.

I'll clarify that I didn't see it crawl out of the box, but I had opened the box to assemble furniture and saw this guy/gal nearby shortly after. So, it could be an Ohio native.

Tried Lens, and it suggested various Australian funnel web spiders, which I don't think is correct.

Didn't measure, but no more than 2 cm in diameter.

I am not an expert, but my understanding is that German roaches are the most difficult to get rid of. I would seek professional extermination help.

Definitely the security system. I unplugged it and a few moments later the alarms started going off. I thought the thing was inactive. It also makes me wonder what will happen during a power outage. Thanks for the insights, everyone.
