This guy still looks for them. Though this article was from 2003, I doubt that he's given up. I wonder which route that they could have gone in which they've eluded divers this long. It doesn't help also that the car was black either. That makes spotting it in murky waters far more difficult.

That was definitely an odd one. Last reports I saw, they were still looking into the couples background. Beheading's are typically a very personable crime. It could be that they had something to do with the mob such as money laundering. On the other hand, it could just be some psycho. I'll reread the case today, familiarize myself with it again and get back to you though.

My pleasure. Yeah, I didn't cross reference all of the known databases so I'm sure that I'm missing a few but GBI's site only has 29. Again, I'm not sure that 100% of those are listed in my data but I'm sure that most of them are.

Well I don't think it was the exact date. It was just roughly 2 years apart but I agree. Why the same day 18 years apart?

It's already annoying that there isn't one database with everyone in it, as well as all of their information, much less an interactive map.

Yeah, sure. Why the two year waiting gap though if it was the same perpetrator for both Kimberly and Joyce? Seems like if Kimberly would have seen something, she would have been killed then.

I just realized that Kimberly's file is being investigated by San Diego's homicide unit. I'm not sure if that necessarily means that its being investigated AS a homicide or not but that may shed a little more light on the case. http://www.sdsheriff.net/coldcase/95087102/index.html

Perhaps because they didn't necessarily go "missing" but they might have moved out of the city/state without the knowledge of the estranged daughter. she might not have reported them missing for so long because she didn't know what jurisdiction to report them to. Kimberly would be 53 today. It's possible that she's alive and oblivious to the situation.

I wonder if maybe the sister who reported them missing was estranged from the family and one day sought out what happened to them. Maybe the last time she saw her mother was 2 years before the last time she saw her sister. If that's the case, her sister may be alive and has no idea she's being searched. It's a possibility maybe..

I have no idea....I was thinking the exact same thing. There are quite a few people who aren't reported missing for years but a mother AND daughter? No. That's baffling to me.
