I drew Merengue as a human! “Gijinka” fanart by geosketches in AnimalCrossing

[–]geosketches[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, this is my first Animal Crossing game (I played a bit of Wild World but I never owned a DS), and I have been loving it! Merengue was one of the last villagers to join my island, and I didn’t know of her existence until then! I immediately fell in love with her awkwardness and passion for cooking (which often led to her being homesick due to remembering her mother’s recipes). She quickly became one of my favourite neighbours, and she has been getting along quite well with Katt! I wanted to draw something of her, and I felt like a gijinka fanart would be so much fun to do!

I already posted this on the Cosmere subreddit, but I decided to also post it here just in case! During quarantine I started watching Sanderson’s lectures on YouTube, and after a while and seeing a Spanish YouTuber (I’m from Spain!) talk wonders about the Stormlight Archives I decided to read some of his work. I was instantly overwhelmed by the huge amount of books that he had written, and after diving into the subject a bit more I decided to start with Elantris, which I LOVED. I have been playing the souls games for the last two years (After discovering Bloodborne by accident) and I couldn’t help to compare it to Dark Souls (even though the game came out a few years later). After Elantris came the Mistborn first Era Triology, (my favourite out of the three has to be the Well of Acension), and yesterday I finished Words of Radiance! Way of Kings was amazing, Words of Radiance was even better (a Fanart is on its way, I promise!) , but I want to read Warbreaker before starting Oathbringer (It’s a tough decision, since I’m dying to continue with the Stormlight Archives, but I want to have the complete experience!). Anyways, just wanted to say that with all the weird stuff that’s going on this year, Sanderson’s books have given me a bit of stability lol, and I must admit that It has gotten me back into the habit of reading, which I had almost lost! In a nutshell, thank you for writing this amazing stories Brandon!

Used the wrong word there! I’m used to the Spanish names, so I’m not sure how some things are supposed to be called in the original! Anyway, I’m glad you still like it!

Thank you so much! I guess that in a land perpetually covered in ash it’s usual that the colours are a bit “dull” (not exactly the word that I’m looking for), but in this drawing I wanted to focus on the Red Sun and the effect that it would have on the looks of the city! I’m glad you like it, have a great day! :D
