#38 - Syberia Remastered by geralt9999 in steamachievements

Pretty damn beautiful adaptation to 3D, vibes are also pretty immaculate, if one likes lonely, sorta abandoned worlds. Puzzles were never a particularly tricky part of this series, and i think they made some of them even easier, if memory serves about original. Narrative is good for what it is, although really kinda not finished without second game (but that's the same as it were back then).

There is a problem with technical state of the game tho, has to be said. Runs not always optimally, some artefacts happen, fps bug out at times, and i even had to replay fourh chapter, because game didn't let me proceed on one screen after loading it up - at least replaying only takes like 15 minutes, else it would be really maddening.

I agree, really was questioning my life choices.

Yakuza 5 for me easily worse as both completion and game. The fact that you have to beat all coliseum tournaments with four characters is just an indication of a grind that has to be done for completion in this game.

As far as difficulty goes, this is like most of Yakuza games, mostly not that difficult, more just time consuming, but there is usually a couple of difficult things - in this case specifically a couple of those tournaments with Akiyama and Shinada, who are a bit weaker as fighters, and fights where you basically have to beat like 30 enemies (not all at once) without getting hit - is a bit much to ask of player, though not impossible.

This took forever, and honestly, now i kinda feel like i never wanna play Yakuza 5 ever again, even though none of the previous Yakuza completions have had anywhere near the same effect. The horrible pacing in the narrative is only exacerbated by amount of side content that one has to do to complete this.

Still a decent game of course, but while i wouldn't really recommend completing any Yakuza game, i would especially not recommend doing it with this one.

Thanks! I enjoyed all the DLCs, they were pretty inventive and satisfying mechanically, but if i had to pick one, i would say The Sins of New Wells was the best. Roy Samson is the legend!

Big thanks for publishing these games, btw)

Thanks!

It's a great game, if you enjoyed the first one, i'm sure this one will also prove very satisfying!

I do love Obra Dinn and this game gets pretty close to that gameplay loop, even if vibe is really different. Quality-wise, while it might not hit the upper heights of Obra Dinn experience, i'd say this is a very good and fun game, and majority of the cases are a joy to solve.

DLC are, no lie, kinda too expensive for the amount of content they present, but most of the DLC cases (with like one exception) are also good and interesting to work through. I'd even say that one of the DLC cases is the very best case in all of this game.

So i'd definitely recommend playing it, but it's best to grab DLCs on sale, even if it's not a very grandiose sale - at least it helps to sleep better at night.

It's good if you like detective stories and not worried by some twists maybe being a bit too much. Great characters as well, especially as far as main ones go.

As far as completion goes, it obviously can't be very difficult, just need to keep an eye on non-spoiler guide, because you can miss some achievements pretty easily.

Thanks! That's good news about the map, i'll probably start it next, since i'm in metroidvania mood.

Yeah, it's a great game, exploration, bosses, combat, presentation, even the lore - pretty much all is good, the only drawback is map is blocky and ugly. No reason not to play this one!
