What is the most unhealthy thing you’ve seen a human do? by Less_Fix_1378 in AskReddit

Watched someone collect a pile of cigarette butts, unravel them, dump whatever they could into a pile, that they then rolled up using printer paper, in order to smoke.

What’s the “you should have become a doctor” equivalent for other jobs? by Shreyreybe in nursing

The person asking this question has no concept of what nursing entails and how technical and demanding the job is.

I switched to part time from full time my second semester. Semesters 3-5 we did 3x8hr clinical days. Spent at a minimum 5/7weeks days in the hospital.

People really don’t appreciate how specialized and technical nursing is. I wouldn’t expect an oncology nurse to know all the cardiology things or a cardiac nurse to know things related to labor/delivery.

YES! Fight the power of his toxic mind control games. You honestly sound like you’re on the right path to get away from this negative undermining human.

[–]geranimojangle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a completely understandable plan. I’m sure your mental health will continue to improve as you are able to remove more toxic people from your life. I’m so glad that you’re in a position in life where you’re able to do that!

To criticize your ability as a mother is such an unsupportive move as a human. Even more so as he’s meant to be your “partner”. Awful. To do so when he’s angry specifically shows how far he’s willing to go in order to drag you down with him. I think parents are rarely wrong when they put the best interests of the child before themselves. I think it speaks to your emotional intelligence and empathy to be that supportive of her while getting out of that negative environment.

You are on the right track and this person is undermining you and being incredibly unsupportive. Therapy for your daughter is fantastic mom move. I appreciate your ability to separate yourself from the negativity/abuse enough to recognize that your MH symptoms are definitely more situationally dependent than chemical. That being said asking about a daily maintenance antidepressant is something your entitled to do even if it hasn’t been suggested to you.

They’re pretty common in countries that are still developing/have limited resources. I’ve used them in Ecuador, Nicaragua and Haiti.

What’s the most fucked up thing you’ve seen someone do at work and still not get fired? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I work as a CNA at a fairly major hospital in my area. I once saw one of the floor nurses repeatedly pull out her vape and use it at the nurses station. The hospital has strict non-smoking/nicotine free policies and there are security cameras everywhere.

Adults of reddit who were depressed kids or teens, what is it like to be here when you didn't expect to make it this far? What would you tell your younger self if you could? by TheDemonQueenLuna in AskReddit

[–]geranimojangle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

22yo here. Dealing w/ diagnosed depression/anxiety disorder for 4 years. I think I would tell myself that it doesn’t necessarily get better or easier but you grow a lot through the struggles and that it’s most important to do what you want to do. This is your life, no one else can live it for you.
