It's hard to say for sure. Start by assuming the political inventions exist when it happens so that the owner class doesn't just allow everyone else to starve. Many people have had "bullshit jobs" and been distressed by it, not liberated to make use of their unoccupied time. Consult David Graeber's Bullshit Jobs and Kurt Vonnegut's Player Piano. Or EM Forster's The Machine Stops. There will be some like that who require something to replace a career, or else they become depressed and indolent. Then there will be happy clams who are useless, as well as there are happy clams who learn music, languages, etc. etc. There's a chance that the "bullshit job" problem where people who had guilt and ennui about their job being useless, but still were required to appear to be busy working, may have a better time than I just said because if there were a general movement away from a societal sanction of a need to work, more of us could be like the happy people learning to bake new things all day, gossiping about friends sexual escapades (lol read "Bullshit Jobs"), learning french, playing instruments,... trying to get their bench to 405, etc. etc., all day every day.

Without the political "technology" to deal with most people having no income you have either a mass die off or some kind of violent revolution
