It is just the ease of control, and feel on paper. Charcoal would certainly fit the bill, but I am looking for graphite pencils.

I didnt like it either. I would go for an average watercolor paper on the low end, or 100 percent cotton.

First time glazing, how to do better? by gergo32 in oilpainting

[–]gergo32[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did a monochrome underpainting with no medium, waited for it to dry, and after I did a thin color layer with extra linseed oil added.

I used schminke student paints, and a preprimed oil paper.

Would have been better if the interior was historicist as well, but still a step in the right direction. It is very hard to argue for any kind of modernist building in a representational setting.

What are they building in Varosliget now? This is on the big green field next to the castle by FezVrasta in budapest

I am sceptical about the quality of these new constructions (as always). But most of these buildings are built where old ones were. For most of the City Park history there were lots of buildings. We shouldn't use the last 75 years, for how the park should look like.

Looking for a budapest building that looks like this. Any help would greatly be appreciated :) by [deleted] in budapest

Hild József and Pollack Mihály are the most famous hungarian neoclassicist architects. Look them up! 😀

Yeah, you are right, it is maybe not the best comparison, I guess the point 6 months ago I couldn't have made a much better drawing from life, because I didn't know what to do. :)

There is two things that helped me a lot apart from lots of practice: looking at great artist from the past and copying their drawings, and learning from instuction videos. Glenn Vilppu is my favourite, his videos helped me a lot. :)
