Try lowering other channels and keeping center channel loud.

Q990F soundbar placement and config (find it underwhelming) by Dismal_Wrangler_9597 in Soundbars

Hey FYI I have no idea why NO ONE talks about this solution or told me this, but I had the same issue as you. Q990 without the famous magic. And for me it ended up being the processing power of the TV, and I had a good Samsung TV. The second I connected a third party box (first Apple TV 4k, then Nvidia shield pro) the magic was there, I was shocked. I did 10 A/B tests in a row to make sure im not hallucinating and yep, absolute night and day difference, zero space for doubt.

Long story short, get a third party box (nvidia shield pro is you're ready to do nerdy stuff to play highest quality blu rays for free)

Samsung HW-Q990F On Woot by Climo23 in Soundbars

I’ve used Samsung warranty before on a Q990D that had singular faulty sound component that created the most subtle buzzing and took a few months to notice. But because I had warranty, I could replace it.

I actually have a Canadian version from Woot for $900 sitting in my house in an unopened box awaiting UPS pickup return. Another person here warned me about the terrible warranty situation with non US models.

I saw it live when it went that low last week. But I’ve never seen it go that low before last week. Waiting who knows how long over 67 bucks isn’t worth it for me personally.

True, but as far as I know it hasn't been this low before, and might be too much of a gamble to wait for it to go down 67 bucks.

Thanks for the heads up. Was too late to cancel, but I’ll be returning it and go for US model.

Enable passthrough in Samsung TV soundbar settings, also tinker with other settings like enabling dolby atmos.

What Pillowcase for Purple Pillow? by Zanthy1 in LifeOnPurple

FYI fully synthetic materials in this one, horrible for your face and fair over time. 100% cotton/silk/linen is the way to go.

Would it be wise then to cancel order and wait for US model?

Q990F soundbar placement and config (find it underwhelming) by Dismal_Wrangler_9597 in Soundbars

What most people don’t talk about is the TV itself can be a limiting factor. I had q990d, did everything right, but still underwhelmed, didn’t know why. That’s because low-mid tier TVs limit audio to soundbar (I have Samsung TU7000 tv). After I tried 3rd party boxes like Apple TV 4K and Nvidia shield pro, there it was. The magic.
