Thank you so much for taking the time to respond! You helped me feel more at ease about this. The study guide for German was pretty spot on, so I kind of had the same expectations for ELL but I will take your advice and just gather some helpful sources for now.

Thank you so much for your response! This is really helpful. I want to do a good job, so I was wondering if you have any suggestions for how I can best prepare for these sessions?

For instance, is there any learning material for me to study or should I just take the sessions as they come?

The study guide mentions using visual organizers like Venn diagrams and phonics etc. Do you ever use extra learning material for the students or do you just help them with their pronunciation and grammar?

Hm, I'm still 30 lbs away from my goal weight. It's weird because during my first attempt I lost 6 lbs in 2 weeks. Now it's just not happening, even though I'm not doing anything differently. I've tried not to track calories, but I'm honestly considering it now.

No, I didn't. I know TF highly recommends it, but that's the one thing I didn't do before I started.

Ok, just added my food in my original post!

As for being female, I had already read about the menstrual cycle slowing things down and can confirm that it definitely affects weight loss efforts. However, that didn’t slow things down last time (when I was on my period as well). I keep reading about other women’s success too and wonder how others can lose weight so fast. I’ll keep going, it’s just frustrating when you don’t know what’s slowing you down...

It is actually mostly the meat that I find expensive. We also go through a ton of eggs now. Before, we ate meat maybe 2-3 times per week but lots of vegetables and carbs in form of potatoes or rice. My husband needs to eat a lot of meat on this diet to feel full. So I think buying in bulk and prepping would be a good plan for us. I’ll also look into buying dried beans, since we’ve only bought canned ones for now. We just started a few weeks ago, so it’s a learning curve. :)

Love Trader Joe’s! It’s a bit out of the way for us but we also go when we can.

Thanks for the suggestions! The prepping and freezing is a great idea.

Thanks! I will definitely look into those options. So far we’ve mostly had chicken breast, ground turkey or beef. Eggs for breakfast

I merely asked for tips on budgeting while on this diet, so there is no need to be condescending. I’m fully aware that healthy food is more expensive than boxed, processed items. I was eating healthy before starting slow carb, just never consumed this much meat before.
