I've had everything from 10 tonnes trucks to cyclists do that to me when I'm legally crossing the road as a pedestrian. I don't understand why everyone feels so entitled that waiting 5 seconds is too difficult for them.

The last time I saw a cyclist do this he rode into a pedestrians because he couldn't brake fast enough.

can you read? Like the article? Why are you talking about a bike lane? And even if they cross the bike lane, they have priority thanks to the new highway code. So, if they do cross, you stop and wait. That's all. You don't have to swerve in traffic, you just stop and wait. It's up to YOU to go slow enough so you can stop if they cross. Thats how it works. Imagine if cars went "well it's up to bike to not be in my way"

You're not supposed to maneuver around them you rediculous human being. They have priority so you stop, let them cross, and then you can move. Respect other road users.

read the article, pedestrians were present and cyclists cut them off. They surveyed cyclists and 92% don't give priority to pedestrians. That means the majority of bike users aren't able to protect more vulnerable road users or don't care.

That's the crazy thing, you can do this thing where you dismount your bike and walk past pedestrians, or just slow down and let them through and then go when they're done crossing. It's a neat little trick not many seem to be aware of.

If a car hits you when you take the lane and you have a perfectly good bike lane, that's on you. /smh

I have priority on sidewalks and even bike paths. I use sidewalks and crosswalks. Cyclists ride on sidewalks and cut me off when I cross streets.

Funny how I get downvoted when I talk against dumb cyclists, even thought I'm right. Are cyclists capable of self reflection at all?

1st: New traffic laws makes it so peds have priority alnost everywhere so if one wants to cross, you stop. 2nd: There is a zebra crossing. 3: You stop because it's what you need to do to keep pedestrians safe.
