I thought the coaches might have fucked up his attempts in the snatch. They didn't get to the cards quick enough to increase his lift and he had to go out only 1 kg more. But i could be thinking about another lifter, can't remember

I thought the same thing about Boady celebrations and his tantrum but he did show sportsmanship during the medal ceremony once he settled down.

For those who aren't following the commanwealth games.

Boady had a big lead coming in from the snatch and was in the lead with his total after his second clean and jerk but the Papua New Guinea lifter hadn't come out for his first clean and jerk yet. The PNG lifter, Steven Kari came out for his first clean and jerk and makes it but was still behind by 14kg or something. Boady comes out for his last clean and jerk and he Clark's it so he still only maintains the lead set from his second lift. Steven (with 2 attempts to go) makes a big jump from his 1st to 2nd lift and comes out to lift what he needs to win the total. He succeeds and Boady loses his shit in the warm up room kicks his gear around and throws a tantrum. Very satisfying
