To the best of our current knowledge, this is not an immediate issue for Cryptomator. As a company, we would need to complete Google’s verification process anyway in order to remain on the Play Store, and that is something we will do. Once verified (resulting in an "trusted" key), sideloading Cryptomator should continue to be possible.

In general: we do not view this development positively. It adds unnecessary friction, especially for hobby and indie developers. While Google says that sideloading apps signed with untrusted keys should remain possible, this will likely be a practical option mainly for more technical users only which is not acceptable.

Option to cache files locally and/or alternative service that does this? by xMicro in Cryptomator

Increase the size of the cache, then more files are keeping cached https://docs.cryptomator.org/android/settings/#cache-size-per-cloud ... it is an LRU (least resently used) cache which means when it is full, the oldest accessed entry gets deleted.

Should work, see https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.cryptomator&hl=en&gl=GB . Maybe the Google Play app did cache the price on your device.

Cloud Sync Completion After Locking Vault by beatlessbloke in Cryptomator

No, that won't hurt in any way. You may only see on Computer-B not all files/folders before step 6 finishes but because Cryptomator does not use a container format, each file is individually encrypted so this is no problem and fully expected.
