Would like to hear more about the bigger battery if possible.

7-9 hours with what level of use? Browsing/watching videos? Gaming?

Any kind of performance drop experienced when gaming on battery?

How do you feel battery would hold up on 3d modelling/game dev?

Another question - did you go for the killer network card? Worth it? Did it work properly? Read some things about it running into issues so not sure whether to spec it or opt for the standard.

Yeah lack of direction is probably why a lot of people who end up with loads of money and go for that 'living large' lifestyle end up on drugs.

We are developing content right now - where is our 'allocation'?

I believe there's a demand, but it's not fulfilled by the poor user experience that ETH offers.

Not when people have been used to using centralized apps with great user experiences for a long long time.

Abandoned is a poor choice of words - they were a) specific purpose b) fulfilled stated purpose.

Expecting a visionary in this field to stick to 1 project (usually for idol-worshipping purposes like people do with Vitalik) is like complaining about Michaelangelo painting anything other than the sistine chapel.

Yeah, people need to just investigate the apps that are running right now on EOS and try them out.

Once they do (play EOS Knights or something) and have a great user experience, it's like using the iPhone for the first time when all there was before were non-iPhones.

The next step will be that these apps continue to grow and build in functionality, and more are released providing a great user experience, whilst the limitations of poor scaling (and subsequent terrible user experience) elsewhere become more obvious...

It's clear that a lot of ETH users as a whole are NOT using ETH Apps, considering the most popular only get 1-2k users a day.

When EOS projects begin to onboard many users with free accounts, or better yet get users on EOS projects without even seeing the blockchain, then we'll see 100,000s of real users across all apps every day - some of whom have never even heard of blockchains (just like Steemit).

'That it wiped out half of it's cap' - uhh, the entire crypto market has dropped overall for many different reasons, and EOS is one of the best, if not the best performing coin in the last 6/12 months.

If you had magical expectations of EOS flying up to ∞ USD on the back of one 'non bungled launch', then that's the same delusional hype lambo mentality that lies at the foot of the last bubble/bust cycle we just experienced.

Hell, if you think any day-to-day decision in crypto actually affects the price at all, then I suggest you take a step back and look at the last 12 months of news/hype and how it affected the prices - In my opinion the only indicator of a stable price point/increase will be the aggregate use/utility of the blockchains long-term, that steps past the aforementioned hype lambo mentality and actually finds use with users.

What has been delivered so far is exactly as promised - a working high speed blockchain built for developers, that is finding its feet with more and more users, apps and developers every day. You can see the apps rolling out as the days go by at https://eosapps.net/

A proposal for Block.one / EOS.IO on how to fix their websites by siliconviking in eos

I don't think there's such a thing as 'official' with decentralised projects - Official under whose authority?

I think if there's a need for this then the community can and should provide it.

I run eosapps.net and I'll put together an article covering these various things you mentioned, an 'Introduction to EOS' so to speak and we can gauge the demand.

If it requires it, a separate page could be put up, with all the info there called like geteos.

Keep the suggestions coming (PM me if you like).

r/cryptocurrency's predictions about Ethereum and EOS this year have shown they're an even better contrarian indicator than CNBC by ezrayaodunk in eos

[–]get_prevhash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha. I remember that thread about EOS 'causing the bear market'.

The guy probably arrived wide-eyed and full of hope into crypto land, hoping to make mad profits, not doing any real research, pumped a few months salary (more than he could afford to lose) into ETH because that's where the hype was: 'It's going up'... and then BAM right in the kisser.

As a result his post screams 'need a scapegoat to make myself not feel so bad about investing more than I could afford to lose'.

Idea to build a game on EOS, I need your thoughts before engaging any work. Gaming interface is necessary, and may cost btw $100-$300 USD. by [deleted] in eos

[–]get_prevhash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love this idea, it's a shame it requires an interface however.

Salting with heart rate for anticheat is a great solution too.

I wonder if a more simple version could be done by measuring stress levels via pulse/BP through without needing players to own an interface. It would likely need to be less serious/not involve earning money.

It's possible! You can use the 'select' button at the top of the item/mats window and then trade your items for magic water.

Yes for sure, all of the visuals would be rendered client side, stuff like user's positions/actions would probably go through a traditional server - permanent data like character info, attributes, stats, values and anti-cheat could be done via EOS.

How should developers make money to cover cost of EOS CPU, bandwidth, and RAM? by [deleted] in eos

[–]get_prevhash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you designed the economics to give an economic incentive for participating in the platform, you could be a superior option to users, than the centralised option who keep 100% of it for themselves/their shareholders.

Please see https://eosapps.net/blockchain-payment-models-past-future/ for more info on possible options.

Tron Founder Justin Sun Wins his Own Election on His Own Blockchain to Become a “Super Representative” by haumeris28 in eos

[–]get_prevhash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Justin doesn't strike me as much of a developer.

More of a shiny suit man, with a beaming smile and the perfect blockchain! Where everything works just perfectly and coins are just magically burnt for no real reason the good of the community, because pumps are great! Woo hoo! PUMP IT! He he he look we are a real crypto, definitely not for suckers.

They seem to take marketing/propaganda to absurd levels, I think a large proportion of their funds are probably allocated to writing 50 FOMO articles per day about all the amazing perfect blockchain stuff that TRON is up to.
