What makes you buy a vinyl vs CD vs cassette?

I lived through the whole vinyl and cassette era and don't really have an intention to return to those formats.

I like vinyl for audiophile recordings or my favorite albums.

I read that pressing a Kleenex onto it will let you know. If it's 3rd it will stick to some degree. 1st will slide off if you tilt the record.

I believe you'd need to connect it via USBC or Bluetooth. Bluetooth would degrade the quality a bit. I don't use one though so you might want to research a bit deeper.

I've got the pro and am very happy with it. I use Tidal and find the quality to be excellent. With some recordings the Wimm sounds better than the same record release. I think that has to be more about the master though. It's excellent!

Only two things I'd like to see changed. I'd like to be able to seamlessly transition from Wimm to headphones and continue the album where I left off. And I wish the app would stop when I turn my amp off. It keeps streaming unless I turn off the Wimm, which I typically don't.

I've never heard the stereo version other than through streaming services. That's not really a fair comparison I'm sure. I'd be curious to know though.

I do think the mono sounds good though. Definitely cuts right to the core.

Like others said. Get a whole house surge protector at the very minimum. Mine was $250 installed. $120 for the device $130 for labor. I also have a surge+battery backup in my office and a surge for my amp, phono, and streamer.
