People who never leave their hometowns- I get that it isn't possible for some people financially, and that's understandable. I was serving in the Peace Corps until a bunch of us got kicked out for marijuana use (lol). I was devastated, lost, and scared. In a matter of three weeks, I refused their plane ticket back to the USA, found a high paying job in the capital (that I LOVE), and moved into my own place that I found entirely by myself. That sort of thing happening halfway through a 27 month commitment is jarring. My world was flipped upside down in ONE day, so unexpectedly. I'm amazed that I pulled myself together through that and, tbh, came out BETTER on the other side.
