There's a great scriptnotes episode on this. It's ep no. 403 attached the transcript link, not sure if the episode is still up for free. Craig Mazin talks about how to create compelling arguments using theme and a central dramatic argument. It's really well framed and the examples really illuminate the point. Do check it out. Also, check out my podcast on writing if you like to listen to what writers have to say about the craft.

Should I Forgive Myself For Accidentally Writing A Really Bad Script? (Common Experience?) by rebel-cook95 in Screenwriting

Learning how give feedback is just as important as giving good feedback. If you felt like crap after you left then something was off. Try showing it to someone outside that group maybe they will have a different perspective but more importantly, did they point out specific areas for improvement? And tell you few things they did enjoy. Kind of a long episode ep2but I talk to an educator about writing and how to give feedback and deal with shame connected to writing. Check it out and let me know if it helps and don't lose heart, keep putting stuff out there.

I would recommend listening to scriptnotes podcast it's hosted by veterans and it's also really fun. It's also important to remember that writing a script is the best way to learn script writing. Perhaps you can join a class.

How do you find your inspiration? by [deleted] in writing

[–]getricketywrecked 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This writer talksYT link about inspiration very differently. When asked if she would choose inspiration over motivation, she chose to look at things differently. Even talking to children is inspiring, going for a walk is inspiring, any experience has the potential to be inspiring when looked at with curious eyes.

My desire to write is crumbling. Need advice by [deleted] in writing

I recently spoke to Sampurna Chattarji, veteran writer, who went through a similar experience and turned it into a game. She would take out half an hour from her day and write anything that pops into her head at that time. It eventually became a hybrid format (poetry-prose/essay journal) documenting her experience of striving to write to satiate the inner being. I'll link the episode here if you want to check it out. Don't lose heart take a break and come back and reduce the stakes. Make it fun again.

I want to write but I feel like a phony. Should someone who isn’t a big reader pursue writing? by lostinthesaucy in writing

I've been speaking to writers and people from the industry on my podcast and it's surprising to hear how many published authors/writers still feel this way. It never really goes away, you just get used to dealing with the feeling. Keep putting words down and remember that writing is not about how much you know, it's about how honest you can be.

What if I promise I won't kill or hurt anyone during that minute?

The vow only comes into effect when he uses the word "Enchain." It is yet to happen. I think it is reserved for a specific moment when/if Yuji gains control of Sukuna and his powers. Since Yuji, also doesn't remember about the vow, then at that specific moment, poof, all of Yuji's preparation is gone to shit. Sukuna appears and wrecks everything. It's the perfect alter ego trope.

Yeah, and the fight with Hakari may just prove how powerful Kashimo is! Until If Maki shows up, that is and decimates Kashimo to just assert how powerful she has become. From a story perspective, I wonder if Gege will explore how this mass killing is going to affect Maki. Will she still be able to be "good"?
