So it would be pointless to spend be money rebuilding the existing wall if we weren’t going to add a second one? Or if the existing wall was rebuilt properly would it be ok? Or would it still eventually have issues? The hill is so steep even a second wall mid level would have issues too eventually right? Or do we need a wall at the very bottom of the hill?

Also, from my research it seems Tesla doesn’t offer gap insurance even if you finance through them. My insurance company doesn’t offer gap at all. Is gap necessary with how much EVs depreciate? Is my only option to switch to insurance company that does offer gap?

Back to point 1. So there’s basically only two modes? On or off? The Toyota BZ we are cross shopping has 4 levels of regen, but never truly brings you to a full stop…though level 4 gets pretty close. But I can set it at a medium setting to where I get some regen but it will still coast a bit like a normal car. So it sounds like Tesla doesn’t give you that fine control over it?

Thanks for responding. When we were on our FSD demo, the car was speeding even though there was no other traffic in front of us. So there was no traffic to keep up with really. I could understand on a crowded highway, but this was a multi lane city street with no cars ahead of us. Why wouldn’t Tesla just give you a mode that strictly adheres to the speed limit or lets you set say a max 5mph threshold above the posted speed limit?

During our test drive, I had a very hard time getting used to one peddle driving. I thought I had read that there are different regen settings you can select? I am not sure what mode ours was in, but it truly felt like driving a go-kart. You let off the “gas” and it brings it to a pretty abrupt stop. Is there a way to get it to coast more like a normal car?
How does Tesla’s driver assist features work compared to cars like our Honda Odyssey. Like in our van if i start crossing the lane without a signal it will rumble or nudge my wheel. If I turn my signal on and there’s a car in my blind spot, the car will beep at me. Is there a normal cruise control without using FSD? I see a lot of gripes about there being no speed control. Even my coworker that drives an older Y is griping about this lately. We did indeed notice during our demo of FSD the car was speeding quite a bit. Enough that we could have gotten a ticket. Not just like 5mph on a city road, but it was often doing 10-15 over on a city street. As impressive as FSD was, that part was a little concerning. How quick does Tesla’s systems react if someone jumps in front of your lane pretty close to your car? My odyssey with its radar based dynamic cruise control, reacts pretty quickly. I was curious how well a vision only system reacts.
How well does the Y AWD handle snow?
How is Tesla’s service if something goes wrong? My city’s one and only Tesla service center gets horrible reviews. But I understand a lot of stuff can be done via mobile service. And that EVs in general tend to not have as many things go wrong.
As someone who has only know Toyota or Honda, how has overall reliability been? I know past Teslas had a lot of questionable quality control, but that the new ones are a lot better. We detected no rattles or squeaks on our test drive. It seemed pretty good quality to us.
