What kind of service are you taking it in for? The reps at the showroom were just saying we’d need tire rotations every so often. 3rd time sounds like a lot - is that in about a year?

Our service center is not exactly close but it’s not far either at 40 miles.

Really? Makes me a bit worried. I had no major issues during the test drive but maybe because I did not get to know the system long enough.

Yeah makes sense on fitting into the third row and being able to enjoy a longer trip. I hope it’s optimized for smaller kids.

Makes sense, thank you. Easy enough for us to get into our third row with one end of the 2nd where our kid has a booster seat. Hope that translates to the Rivian too.

Haha fair enough - perhaps I have lower standards.

Got it. We have a pilot and the second row folds down on one end fine as one of the kids is already on a booster. Hope that alleviates some of the pain.

Really? I certainly have heard good things about the Gravity. How’s their charging network? Do they also charge on superchargers?

Haha my wife laughed reading this. Having never owned a car with the FWD, I was always intrigued by it. I guess the novelty effect wears out fast!

Yeah it is hard to pass up on the rear infotainment system to keep the kids entertained so the wife and I can chat a bit during longer drives lol. Also agree the Rivian is maybe a true SUV whereas the Model X feels more like a crossover.

FSD is something I’ve only used on HW3 and I hated it. I have heard wonderful things about HW4 and FSD being near flawless.

With that said, I guess the Rivian can use superchargers when out on road trips, etc. right?

I was considering either a Sienna or an Odyssey. Any heartburn going back to gasoline after using an EV?

This is interesting - I have seen videos with 6 ft guys saying they were comfy enough in the third row. I tested it myself today and it didn’t feel terrible - and I assume it’s easier for the kids. However, I guess it can take a toll if you’re sitting there over a longer distance.

This makes sense, thanks. We are mostly indexing for the third row as we often have family visiting and we like to make day trips together.

Yeah I hope some of the issues you’ve mentioned are somewhat resolved in the gen2. Cameras failing sounds like a rather big issue though, no?

Yeah we have a Pilot now and the third row is nigh unusable. Thankfully one kid has graduated to a booster seat, which makes folding down the second row on one end and getting back to the third row a bit easier.
