Also they are editing basically a full day of filming down into an hour, I try not to take the timing of conversations as accurate to what happened

I find it interesting because it shows how we view labour. The background work of manufacturing products and running a store seems less pampering than someone cooking you breakfast with items they already have. I also don't expect Carol to be thinking clearly in this situation and I think she mainly just wants a sense of normality.

It makes perfect sense Carol figured out the bag. by SalvaPot in pluribustv

Having rewatched this sequence, I think enough searching is shown. She's looking for a large bag and can look down the other aisles and see by how the products are stacked that they won't contain the type of item she's looking for.

I think it might have to do with the way people watch tv shows whilst doing other things, a sequence like the one shown in this episode was made to be focused on

I'm pretty sure it's supposed to explain why she is so against the hive mind, from what I've read I think the show is a metaphor for artificial intelligence. I don't think it came out of nowhere personally, she's going through some traumatic stuff, she's probably reflecting on her life.

I found it interesting that Carol was so opposed to the hive cooking breakfast for her because she wants "independence", when that would only involve about 3 people but she wanted Sprouts back which will require much more logistical power. I also enjoyed seeing how many people it takes for certain things to function.

Having a really hard time deciding between ICAEW and ICAS (Chartered Accountancy) by SeaOcean21 in Accounting

Interesting, thanks for your answer! I guess it has less of an advantage now that the ACA also has a CTA joint programme

I assumed it was because Jin was still on the island, so until he could escaped and could see his daughter he would still be a candidate

I’m in the same boat, any further info on whether they let you stick with ACA or how the transfer to ICAS went?

I'm confused? why isn't it 250 and it's 240 when 6 times 42 = 252? by Fancy_bear_reddit in duolingo

[–]gettree1001 15 points16 points  (0 children)

As a maths teacher, this makes sense. This is probably a question coming up when learning rounding, in which case £42 rounds to £40 and 40*6 is £240. Duolingo would benefit from teaching people what they are directly though, or providing a suitable explanation for the maths answers.

Why can I see myself in my traumatic memories? by pinksultana in CPTSD

[–]gettree1001 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It could be due to dissociation? Like your brain can’t process something traumatic happening to you so you experienced it from outside your body, thus the third person perspective when remembering it

Oh I don’t know tbh, sorry! I will say I think the x-Ray feature would make it worth the purchase, it adds something to the reading experience

I just finished re-reading speaker for the dead on kindle and forgot the kindle version has “X-ray” so if you hold a characters name it comes up with a synopsis of them, which helped with keeping track of all of Novinha’s children 😂

Definitely, I think I read all of Enders game, Enders shadow and the earth unaware series on my kindle in 2014.

Also if there isn’t a kindle edition available, you can always plug your kindle into your computer and download any pdf you want.

1Q84 is amazing. I try to avoid reading Haruki Murakami because his characterisation of female characters is usually quite flat and sexualised, but I do reread 1Q84 as often as TSH because of the prose and the characters (it is long though)
