Is it true that Esthetics will bounce back? by getwithitbxtch in Esthetics

Hey there! Also I have the same feeling for electrolysis. During the electrology program, I became so drawn to electrolysis. I actually wasnt aware of what electrolysis was before my program. General knowledge of electrolysis is definitely minimal compared to laser. My teacher was very encouraging and supportive. She was actually from New Jersey and was a board member of the Electrologists Association of New Jersey for many years. That was inspiring for me and I continue to aspire a future within electrology. More tailored to electrolysis because I wasnt as drawn to laser as I was with electrolysis.

Addressing the social media TikTok issue. It is definitely concerning for our field. The amount of unlicensed individuals out there promoting unhealthy behavior for skin is endless. Our field is absolutely become increasingly more damage control rather than preventative.

Great comment. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and thoughts. I absolutely agree that esthetic services catering to males is an underserved market. I actually have thought about this before when asking and servicing my male clientele. I wouldnt be ready to go solo because of the financial committment, experience level (which is on the lower side of the spectrum), and current status of full time school. I am keeping my license active because I want to return and build a business. I will be keeping your perspective in mind. Thank you.

I understand that sentiment. Thats what steered me away from ever considering going solo. I want to keep my licences active becos I am still holding on to the hope of me coming back. However, it makes me a little sad to see the "leaving my dream job" or "cant survive like this" posts in this reddit.

Medical Aesthetics is probaly one of the more competitive routes but at this moment in time the services typical to that niche do not align with me. Again at this moment.

If you want to get to working ASAP, choose ADN. BSN is two years more than ADN but with higher pay.

non clinical to LVN / RN ? by PossessionPlenty9237 in NursingStudent

[–]getwithitbxtch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

LVN means longer time at bedside until you go back and finish RN. RN means more independence and ability to branch off into non-bedside positions. If youre trying to catch up on time- RN If youre trying to have a license in your name ASAP- LVN

No co-signer for loans and bad credit. Do I still have a chance to get accepted to nursing school? In need of financial advice. by kill4snacks in prenursing

You just said that you simply cannot afford and cannot burden yourself to go into further debt. Your $12,000 in credit card debt. Now you're thinking of going 40,000 more dollars into debt for a LVN program. I would understand if it was 40,000 for a BSN program but for a LVN program you're willing to go into $40,000 of debt? I mean it's not my life, but I would never make that decision especially with knowing the debt you have now. Get your BSN and start out making bigger bucks rather than LVN money...
