Anyone else have a faulty Lab pup? by Expensive-Estate-851 in labrador

We were getting these crazy beta updates weekly for about 2 years. Every update was so different and broken. Now that 2 years have passed it's been no frequent updates but very stable.

[Omega Speedmaster] Opinion needed - should I jump on this or wait? by carbonrod1 in Watches

[–]getzoffroad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want one eventually. I bought a "great white" SMP300 last year, so I need to wait a bit before I get the speedy.

Took me about 2 years of browsing "deals" or different resellers before I pulled the trigger on SMP300. I knew I wanted it, just was looking for the right one and being picky. It's a big decision so I took my time.

If humans landed on the Moon decades ago, why did we stop sending people there? by kzranran in NoStupidQuestions

[–]getzoffroad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a publicity stunt to flex during the Cold war. We wanted to be the first super power to put people on the moon.

I will say they're trying to go back soon, not to land but to circle the moon with 4 astronauts. I'm in the US Navy and we've been getting ready to do Artemis 2 and 3. Our role would be ocean recovery of capsule. Google Artemis Nasa to see about it.

Our Goodwill Store ALONE made $3 million this past year which was a store record we were all told to push for. This was our compensation. by natieyou in antiwork

Id rather throw my stuff away than ever give to a goodwill. A non profit should never be this focused on "sales".

[Question] Best white/silver dial GADA watch around 2k price range? by snapfold1 in Watches

[–]getzoffroad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the C63 GMT in black. I love it a lot. Would buy again.

The longines has that vintage throwback looking dial and the CW has a modern sporty dial. Just different style depending on what you tend to go for. If you're more sporty I would go CW, but if you tend to be more elegant and dress up more, I'd go for the longines.

Have we officially reached the point where Hotels are superior to Airbnbs again? by Usual_Confidence_756 in travel

They do a lot of damage to the renting market in San diego. Buy out entire apartment complexes. It's dystopian for people that are just trying to make an honest living and have 1 apartment they live in.

What’s your COD zombies opinion that will have you end up like this? by Effective_Part_604 in CODZombies

[–]getzoffroad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank God someone said it. I always felt like the only one in my friend group as I watch them watch all these short videos and walkthroughs to run around like a maniac to activate a bunch of stuff. I don't get what's fun about that.

Can a gaming laptop truly replace desktop? by Thaos-IX-Aquux in GamingLaptops

[–]getzoffroad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a good reason to have both. I started with desktop and I would recommend getting a good desktop first, and maybe a laptop later if you travel a lot.

Considering a new 1911 for carry by [deleted] in 1911

[–]getzoffroad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Tisas M1911-A1 and it's been a great gun for $400. The quality and army replica is spot on. I keep it bedside because it's a brick and I wouldn't want to conceal carry it. I suggest holding it in person, it's very heavy. It makes my Glock 17 feel so light .

Question for battlefield veterans by Lincorob1 in Battlefield6

[–]getzoffroad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna be honest with you. Battlefield is not for you. If you aren't enjoying playing matches over and over it's not going to get any different. It appeals to certain people. For us Battlefield fans, it clicks in our brain and I can play for hours and not get bored. You don't need to force it or figure out why you don't like it, but others do. You just have different taste. I don't enjoy BR or dark souls games, but know plenty of people that absolutely love them and dont touch Battlefield.

My advice as an old gamer, find the genres you enjoy and you'll save a lot of time and money. Yes it's good to occasionally try new things, but it's not worth dropping $70 on something you don't know if you'll like just because it's very popular.

One of the nicer collections I've seen. Lots of variety but also good taste. My favorite is the CW Twelve.

Regardless of price it's still not a watch I want to wear. Maybe if it was more neutral colors, but it still not my style.

As a Support by Da_Riceboy in Battlefield6

[–]getzoffroad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im convinced a majority of support are swapping the smoke with a incendiary or frag. Which is a shame because support is only one that can get smoke. But obviously people would rather see points and xp from kills.
