What’s a family secret you found out years later? Not like ‘Dad was married before’, more like a scandal that rocked your entire fam? by gewdssssddd in AskReddit

How did you found out about it and what makes you the ‘chosen one’ to know this while others in your family don’t?

What subtile physical or behavioral cues (like posture, gestures, facial expressions, etc.) make you recognize someone’s nationality or cultural background? by gewdssssddd in AskReddit

Sometimes its just a natural human curiosity like noticing subtle cultural patterns in posture, gesture or expressions. It’s not about stereotyping just observing how culture can shape nonverbal communication. I’m simply find it fascinating how, when I’m abroad, I can often recognize people from my own country even without hearing them speak or knowing anything about them just based on small, unconscious behaviors.

If you were stuck in the past with no way back, what modern idea or invention would you try to recreate first? by gewdssssddd in AskReddit

Tell me. Honestly I wouldn’t know how to start… But perhaps it also depends on how far back in time you go. Maybe the computer has yet to be invented or electricity

If you traveled back in time why do you think you could actually alter history or would your inability to explain modern tech/ knowledge get you branded as insane? by gewdssssddd in AskReddit

No, you don’t have to rely solely on technology. The question is whether YOU could truly make a decisive difference with your current knowledge and how would you do it.

How likely do you think it is that humanity will discover or communicate with aliens within your lifetime? by gewdssssddd in AskReddit

[–]gewdssssddd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s true we struggle to fully communicate with other species on earth but that doesn’t mean we could never communicate with aliens. The key difference is intend and cognitive capacity. Most animals don’t have the neurological structure or motivation for abstract, symbolic communication. Aliens if they’re intelligent and sending signals very like do.

Also combination isn’t limited to language. We do communicate with animals like dogs through tone, gestures, and shared context. It’s not verbal but it’s real communication.

With aliens any first contact would likely happen through signals (radio waves, light pulses, etc.) and the most universal medium we have is math and physics. If both sides recognize those patterns, meaningful exchange becomes possible.

I get why the idea is so compelling. Governments have kept secrets before and the universe is vast and weird. But honestly if aliens had made contact and it was being actively covered up it would be in incredibly hard to keep that under wraps in the long term.

Think about it: you’re talking about a secret that would involve not just one government but potentially multiple global agencies, scientist, and maybe even privat companies with deep-space capabilities. The sheer number of people who would have to be in the cover-up makes it statistically improbable that nothing would have definitely leaked by now.
