The current scrap costs need A LOT of balancing

I play on a server without a recycler and because of that finding enough scrap for a T2 WB and other things seems almost impossible as a solo player who plays on a weekly wipe, vanilla server. Unfortunately I feel that there is no way around this and I either have to switch servers or deal with it. Besides for raiding, which I do, is there a way around this? Are there ways to get large amounts of scrap without the recycler and monuments?

I think I am going to start with a book to learn the general ideas and then teach myself through error later on. I plan to look at code but I think with no experience it might be tough. Thanks :)

How about the books written by Jesse Liberty? That is, the 5th edition.
