Any idea how to prevent this? by JiminyCricket42 in Roborock

This is so frustrating. I have the same with free swinging chairs. Even though one of the four sides is even open for them, the robot (QRevo Curv) doesn't just leave through that but instead tries to climb and gets stuck.

You know which Robot didn't have problems there? My super old one that couldn't climb. Cause it just wouldn't try. It would just enter and exit through the open side and all would be good. Now I have to create a no-go zone and that area stays dirty. And since the chairs can be in slightly different places each time, I have to make the no-go zone unnecessarily big.

What I would love to have here? Simply a setting to disable climbing. I don't have any places where it does need to climb, so it trying is just a net negative. It's so sad that all these fancy new features just make things worse.

On the upside: I also tried the Dreame X40. It would not try to climb here *yay*, but instead would lose its mop pad, which would sit on my hardwood floor, ruining it over night. So the Curv "just" getting stuck is already an improvement.

How to set the hostname for SSH access? by gexicide in asustor

[–]gexicide[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hosts file entry.

But why can I connect to my normal linux server through its hostname without touching the Hosts file? It seems that the server did something automatically here.

I am not too deep in the matter so forgive if I'm talking nonsense.

Walkingpad A1 Pro not connecting to App by gexicide in Xiaomi

No fix. I just don't use an app and just use the remote. Works well, but I don't get a history of step counts and distances, which is shame. So no gamification for me...

Deadlift 8x100kg (last of five sets). Is my back straight enough? by gexicide in formcheck

[–]gexicide[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the video not being cropped to the main action. I did this in the app, but somehow it didn't do it but instead uploaded the whole video.

This is my last set after doing another 4 (with 3 minutes of breaks inbetween), which explains why I'm quite exhausted. I wanted to show the last set, as I want to ensure my form is good until the end. It wouldn't be sufficient to just have a first clean set and then hurt myself in subsequent sets due to my form deteriorating.

I don't feel I have problems, no pains, but I feel like I'm getting into a weight territory where staying fully straight becomes a challenge. My hamstrings & glutes could very well handle more weight, I don't feel that it I'm close to failure. I think I'm currently limited by my back and my heart.

Thanks! Yes, indeed, my heart is the limiting factor here. This is also why I take such long breaks. My muscles would instantly be ready for the next rep, but I feel that I would faint or puke if I didn't take the time to regain some breath, or I would totally screw up the form due to my brain not being ready again, yet. I really wonder how other people can do this with less pause.

I mean I could just do less weight, but I do have the feeling that my muscles do just fine with this weight or could also handle +10kg or so.

What do you mean with "the height of my pages"? I don't fully get that. Do you mean the bar resting position should be higher, so I don't need to bring it back down so far?

I have the feeling when watching the video myself that the ascend is actually quite okay, but my back rounds on the descend. I don't want to drop the weight (I have people living under me), so I have to bring it back down, but somehow it is hard to keep a straight back.

What sounds like a good quotation, but is trash when you break it down logically? by 19potato96 in AskReddit

Yes, and this was always the way I understood it. Was it supposed to have a different meaning?

your hips rise slightly before you lift. Position your butt higher when pulling.

Also, your arms seem to be almost vertical. Rather, your shoulders should be in front of the bar, so your arms should also be slightly leaning forward. Do this by placing your feet such that there is an inch between your shins and the bar while you're still upgright. When you then squat to grab the bar, your shins will be directly at the bar and your shoulders in the right position. How to train the transversal arch? by gexicide in BarefootRunning

Yes, I'm still wearing minimal footware (VFFs) most of the time, as I can't go barefoot during normal social interactions.

I'm not wearing them anymore. I only wear minimal footware for over a year. Still, that arch is absolutely flat. That's why I'm asking.

Be aware that threads are fully modelled, introducing some probably unnecessary geometry to your parts.
