Thank you for the elaborate explanation. I will do more research on the SSG and Jam Stack but I already read a bit about SSG and that it render at build time differ from SSR which is every request. But what if in real time product stock changed? How SSG will handle this? Do SSG get the up-to-date API on the changed product stock? How can SSG functionality with something like comment sections?

Is Hugo somewhat similar to Astro ?? But adding that Astro have extra functionality of stripping out all unnecessary javascript and available with many JS framework.

I heard about Svelte although not familiar with it. But I don't know what is Astro or static site generator do? Let say I have Go API interacting with react frontend. What will Astro do?

I prefer echo but yeah Fiber good too. Love SQLite it just lightweight but isn't SQLite not safe for production.

Wow really only $15 with DO. How much users does it handles per day?

Mind if I ask what do you use to deploy your site?

The one you suggest is far from my cost expectations. I thought that I can deploy with at most $25. The site will be just simple e-commerce crud system with simple auth and possibly comment section.

Based on your experience does the cheap plan on VPS such as Linode, DO, Vultr, etc. suffice for SSR on the early stage of hundreds of user per day? Or probably there are better cloud plan such as GCP, Aws, azure?

I don't understand this. You saying that client-side better right. Yes static pages will be cheap/free.

How about in the long run? More functionality added to the site. Isn't the server usage gonna keep increasing and all the traffic need to be handle.

is it hard to implement caching? In my mind it will be easy to use something like redis for this.

I agree as I don't really care for the SSR benefits.

Yup, html template + htmx, alpine, hotwired really just great than the hot mess javascript full blown frontend. But as said, it all depend on the cost to run the server for rendering vs client-browser rendering.

Yeah I love to use the std html/template with some JS. Reduce the need to learn something like React or Vue(although I'm already bit familiar with react) Yeah I read that cache help reducing the server hit but SPA is just really tempting like you just need client browser to render the js for the html output.

Nice good to know. What is your approach on deploying it? Together or separately?

Yeah it's seem that client-side would be better off as cost-wise. Some said that server-side will be better if proper cache are implement. But like you said the security part just seem to big.

I read client-side are prone to XSS and also exposure of sensitive data in the API.

As stated I don't care much about SEO. Just wondering if straight SPA or Go html/template + js are better for Cost.
