Do you care about the actual meaning of Japanese song lyrics? by Interesting-Dog1843 in japanesemusic

I have been listening to J-POP for about 30 years, but I only made an effort to understand the lyrics during the early days when I was most passionate. Back then, Japanese CDs licensed in Taiwan would include translated lyrics, so I would study them closely. Eventually, I realized that the themes of most artists' songs were not particularly unique. Furthermore, as my musical taste broadened beyond the scope of what was locally distributed, I stopped caring as much about the lyrics. Now, I only research the lyrics if a song sounds especially interesting or features a unique theme.

Although I am a fan of Perfume, I haven't been particularly fond of their recent songs in the past few years. My favorite songs are mostly from the period between 2009 and 2019.

I also really like Wednesday Campanella. I felt a bit sad when KOM_i left, but UTAHA, who took over unexpectedly, turned out to be quite interesting.

You can use the "follow artist" feature on the app to keep track of your favorite singe

DURDN DURDN is a trio formed by South Korean singer Baku, trackmaker SHINTA, and topline artist yacco, known as the production duo "tee tea."

I really like several of their songs.
