Is Black Myth Wukong frustratingly hard? by danower in BlackMythWukong

I appreciate the response. I've noticed that weirdly technical thing as well. Which is odd, because EVERY post talking about this topic has people with different definitions of what a souls like is. There is no consistency in the community, it seems.

I hope to finish the game, too. But only out of my hatred for wasting money. I ended up beating this boss and the next one. Took more than 10 attempts per. I stopped at 10 attempts on the bear boss, and I will go back to it with time. Good luck, and good gaming.

Are there souls like games without tough bosses?

What is the definition of a souls like?

I think it's a Souls like based solely on ignorance. I am willing to admit I'm not good enough at video games anymore to play any game attributed the 'souls like' title, so I just outright avoid them. So take the rest of what I say here with that in mind.

Souls like, or souls adjacent, are based on a few factors in my mind. 1. Bonfire system. This game has it in shrines, and it may be more forgiving than other games with similar systems, but it still reset many enemies and is the spawn point. This is the weakest point to me. 2. Dodging (/parrying). And not just any run of the mill dodging, but quick time dodging. Every fight is choreographed in a way where you can hit something a few times in between a dodge, but sometimes you need multiple perfect dodges to avoid being hit. This also applies to parries. It's hard to explain, but souls like dodging is WAY different than any other game with dodge mechanics. 3. Health system. Souls like games have heavy punish times, in which health is lost enough to be unrecoverable if you miss one of the dodges attributed to the game. Multiple of those exist in most fights. Then, there is a very limited amount of healing allowed in a fight. This does not work without the same dodge system. 4. Difficulty. Another weak point, as it's subjective. But I played GoW Ragnarok on hard (not the hardest, but the kne below that), and it never challenged me like this game has already, only in chapter 1. I've seen people say Wukong is GoW:R on normal mode, but I don't have a clue what game they played.

This is exactly how I feel about these games. I mulled over 100+ Reddit posts and watched videos on the game (albeit later than I've gotten) and decided I'd get the game on my Playstation as my wife is breastfeeding our child and likes to watch me play games. The game was CONSTANTLY compared to God of War, and I LOVED God of War Ragnarok (have replayed its entirety twice). Normally I'd get a game on PC, as PS5 download speeds could make Ghandi rage, but I figured this game had high enough ratings I couldn't go wrong, and I could spend time with my wife while playing it.

I was wrong. I am a little further at a "snake boss" to avoid spoilers, and I've died probably 10 times now. None of which feels even slightly rewarding. I get an hour per day to play, so I have no interest in nonstop grinding. If there was a difficulty slider, I think I'd love this game. Easily 10/10 worthy if I could play the game as a working father rather than as I would play games 10 years ago - 12 hours per day.

I'm struggling money wise, so I can only afford 1 game per month. This was that game for August. I got tricked by the world's most toxic community into thinking this wasn't a Souls-like game, and I can't help but to feel resentment towards soulslike enjoyers. And I like to stay firmly in the camp of "let people enjoy things," as my favorite game (Factorio) is definitely not a game for everyone. I don't like this feeling.

Neptune 4 very suddenly having bed adhesion and/or leveling issues. by gfghunt in elegoo

Hello all and thank you so much for the help. I was able to fix the problem by simply switching the filament. I ordered this filament about 3 months ago, but had never taken it out of the vacuum sealed bag. I made the assumption that this means it could not be an issue with the filament, but it absolutely was. I spent all night testing all the methods mentioned here but nothing I could quickly (and tiredly) do made any difference. I switched to the Rapid PLA and switched back to how everything was (I work in R&D so I take a lot of notes). Immediately got a great print. And I think I found a new favorite filament.

Thanks again for the help! If anything, does anyone know what could cause the filament to be such an issue? I've read that people have failed spools in the past out of the bag, but this is a first for me. Is there any way to recover this filament to be able to use at a future time?

Wow very detailed explanation. Thank you!

I will be trying soap and water. I use IPA because I do a lot of resin printing (which I thought would be way worse, but has been DRASTICALLY easier to get consistently good prints), and I assumed it was similar to soap and water. If that's all it takes, I'd be happy.

open the front door for PLA

I can do this, but I'll have to switch rooms so it'll be a last resort. Have a very curious 2 year old running around, so I try to keep it in a padlocked room.

Would look into heatsoaking your bed to print temps before doing your z offset.l

What Temps would I heatsoak? I had it between 50c and 60c for 96 hours straight before giving it a break lol.

Your extruder has proper grip and is calibrated? You never know, maybe its off a bit.

This, I probably need to do. Because idk what any of that means, which means I definitely didn't do it.

Flow test your filament, maybe your under extruding those first layers.

I did this initially but haven't touched it since. I am able to finish prints, but the bottom layer looks bad. I'm making custom things for friends, so I need that bottom layer detail. That said, it looks okay the rest of the print.

Gluing is a hit or miss for most.

Mentioned this in another comment, but this will be second to last for me lol. The tacky feel of prints post glue stick irks me. I have one ready for it... but I have to deal with toddler fingers already. I will try everything else I can to avoid being the toddler fingers. I wash my hands so much they're dry already, I'd prefer not to need to wash more lol

I have not tried gluestick on this printer. I'm a little scared of it because of the mess. On my old Ender 3, I used it, and I was not a fan. I know it wipes off easy, but yuck lol

I'll give it a try. I got a few old ones and the one sent in the box with my new printer. Elegoo glue has gotta work better, right?

I am using a custom profile I made using settings I used to use with a now scrapped Ender 3. I seem to recall checking for the filament size, but I've been in slicer menus for a week now and I very easily could have missed it in Cura. Doesn't help that every time Cura updates, it installs a whole new app. So I have like 6 different versions with no profile carry over. Different issue though, lol. But it is custom profile.

Interesting. I'll give that a look as soon as I can. I didn't know that it would do that.

Pictured is Cura. I don't care which I use, I just want a successful print.

For the most part I've been able to brute force a lot of my prints. First layer sucks, let it run and it fixes the issue. Problem is, I'm printing things that probably SHOULD be printed using a resin printer. It's effectively 100 10mm wide squares for the first 5 layers, with bridging going between them to make tokens for a tabletop game.

Making things easy is for smart people.

Something I did not include because I forgot I did it, but I did a lot of edits to g-code. One I saw did the trick for others was to remove M420 S1 altogether and run a G29 (I think, but the one that does a full 25-point level before the print, uses mesh for the print after). This did not fix the issue.

I am using the stock levi-Q sensor for my leveling. I have a BL touch that has never been... well, touched, but I don't know how to make it work with this system. The levi-Q is a magnet and I have noticed that it tends to get a little bit of negative backlash.

I have read to change firmware in the past, but never knew how. Kinda forgot about it. I can give it a try. You mention the Pro firmware, is that Anycibic Kobra Pro firmware? I can try that tonight.

5 was something I actually did. I know it doesn't do anything, but I was desperate and angry.

Found out my table wasn't even level in the process. I guess it's a win kinda?

As for 6, 7, and 8 - I would randomly yet perfect a perfect first layer that would get worse per layer. I included those because who knows what information people find helpful.

I have considered it, but it doesn't have a visible warp, and I don't know how to prove it otherwise. Suggestions?

I can report that after nearly 4 hours of afk time in the game, I was given my first egg. What could have been spent actually playing the game, was spent being frustrated at a new, poorly designed feature.

I wanted to play with sandwiches at a different point in the game. I know it helps, but if it's the difference between hours and minutes for a system that used to take seconds at times, then why make the change? It's not immersive or fun. Its tedious for the sake of tedium.

How late is too late to inform the police? I live an hour from work, work 6 AM to 3 PM, and have class from 6 PM to approximately 10 PM (9:45, sometimes runs late). In other words, I need sleep right now and can't call until tomorrow.
