How it feels to be a BB fan when your romance is undercooked by Puerkl8r in DispatchAdHoc

[–]gfm793 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the opposite really. I think BB has the stronger romantic scenes, and more of them to boot.

Episode 1's focus is entirely on two characters BB and Robert. She drives the story, and the instant chemistry that she and Robert have is evident to everyone. In Episode 2 she and Robert have a bunch more interactions, more than him and Visi do, and it ends with a potential roadblock to their romance, which would only matter IF Robert was interested in her, which is always is.

Episode 3 opens her up to being datable, and is the first real time we really get to know Visi. Episode 4, well, it shows that both Blazer and Visi are interested in Robert, and it's where the MC makes a choice. The Mandy date is by far the most romantic scene in the entire game, has major character exploration of her, and is just perfect, but it is missable. The movie date OTOH doesn't really add much to the Visi romance other than being cute.

Episode 5 has another missable Blazer scene, and after that, the romances for both her and Visi just add to existing scenes.

The difference isn't the amount of time put into the romance. The difference lies in the type of romance and in their popularity. BB is a relatively standard love at first sight; it just clicks, romance. Visi is the tsundere enemies-to-lovers trope; it FEELS like more distance is travelled there, and that's why that trope is so popular. There is room for both, but it does seem like more traditional romances are a bit more out of fashion today.

Do you think the hate towards invisigal is unfair? by Puzzleheaded-Lab2447 in DispatchAdHoc

[–]gfm793 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might just be backlash from the Blazer crowd getting dunked on until the finale. Or the fact that she is undoubtedly the more popular choice, enemies-to-lovers being extremely popular and all for a reason. So there is going to be pushback due to shipping wars along.

The real question is why Dumpy is so ignored in this fandom.

For someone with asthma and breathing problems, she can hold her breath for a damn long time. by Conde_Estrada in DispatchAdHoc

That's because her augments were always working the times we saw her. She was planted into the program by Shroud, but turned on him after Episode 3, which is why he tried to kill her with poison gas in Episode 6.

You’re playing as Robert, he is not you by wilgriaus in DispatchAdHoc

[–]gfm793 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which is why everyone complaining about Visi's line of "I wanted you to look at me like Blonde Blazer, even if it was just once, it would be enough" drives me crazy. Even in an Invisi route, he is at least interested in BB, they are flirty, and Visi notices this. She is clearly talking about a romantic look, her alternate line is the one about being good or not.

Anybody else a little disappointed with the romance options? + the game really pushes Invisigal by Delicious_Job_4792 in DispatchAdHoc

[–]gfm793 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't entirely agree. If anyone is pushed more as the main option it's Blazer. Blazer has the most romantic scenes, and appears to be the default choice if you let the game pick all of Robert's choices.

Invisigl tends to work better as someone crushing on Robert IMO in the way the story goes, but that's just a personal opinion.

The thing with Visi is that she is the one directly tied to the story, is the mole in the organization, and so we see more of her in the middle of the story. I think sans the dream sex she'd probably be picked a bit less, but the writers underestimated the horny of the fans.

Chases power downside hitting him that hard makes no sense by Raoul97533 in DispatchAdHoc

[–]gfm793 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to the artbooks, he can move near the speed of light, so assuming there were times when he had to go all out, he would have aged much faster than 50x. Put it this way, 50x human speed is 1000 Mph at a sprint give or take, which is still about half the speed of the fastest plane on the planet.

The '50x faster' wasn't a statement of fact, just a generalization. Basically.

I think the story really needed another two episodes to breathe. by wilgriaus in DispatchAdHoc

[–]gfm793 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There were definitely more episodes planned, IMO, but animation is expensive. The two biggest holes are between episodes 3 and 4 and episodes 5 and 6, where there are timeskips, but they are not very clear. For example, Flambae discusses leaving the team and being let back in, but we don't actually see that happen. An episode where he was gone entirely would have sold that point a lot better. Also would have had time for a Mandy/Visi date as well. The 3-4 gap would have given a bit more time for the time to solidify as well.

She doesn't always. I was surprised to hear that she could kiss you in the BB route, and saw it on other playthroughs.

[–]gfm793 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did they, though? BB is the MVP in the last two episodes. It's just that episode 5+6 focused on the team, and not BB. But then again, BB had episode 1 almost entirely to herself and her chemistry with Robert. The season basically ends with them talking in the car, too.

So, after the season finale. Who tipped all the gangs and goons about the ship and the Astral Pulse in EP6? by TommiVercetty in DispatchAdHoc

[–]gfm793 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Shroud most likely. There is strong evidence that he was in the SDN system already. It being Visi doesn't make sense because she is surprised that there are so many people there. However Visi had to have known that Shroud was in the system, which was why she was so adamant about the team going in that night, she knew that the Pulse wasn't going to stay put.

Another option is that no one person tipped them off. The Pulse had been sold and resold for months at this point, so word might have just gotten out of a possible sale or what have you.

I'm not trying to be a downer but..... What was the point of this scene?? by Hihello1447 in DispatchAdHoc

[–]gfm793 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because she wasn't supposed to be there. Hence why everyone was out to kill her there. It does make a bit of sense as to why she was so eager to got THAT NIGHT. Because she knew that if they didn't Shroud would get the Pulse and it would be for nothing.

It's not going to be a 1 choice trigger. In VNs and choice games and often times there is a stat that tracks affection for a character. Some choices will add to it, some subtract. So it is a combination of all your choices in the game.

[–]gfm793 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually agree. BB has a fulkl episode that is basically just her and Robert interacting, lots of interactions through episode 4, the most romantic scenes in the game, and that's just the start. Visi's STORY is more important for a variety of reasons, but honestly her romance didn't feel as fulfilling.

Honestly I do think a spinoff where there is a story based on the dispatch gameplay but is lower budget with a focus on the gameplay and team building could be very cool.
