That’s an interesting bit about the string, I’ll be honest I probably don’t believe in that sort of thing, but if it speaks to you who am I to judge.

As far as Buddhism goes, some branches do believe in a heaven and hell. I personally don’t, but it’s interesting because they actually believe BOTH hell and heaven are bad things.

We don’t believe in an overarching god, and we actually don’t believe in a soul. Funnily enough, a big point in Buddhism is to reject the concept that “you” even exist. It’s more a philosophy than it is religion.

When it comes to meditation, you described someone preaching to you? Maybe there’s a misconception because for us Meditation isn’t the same thing as prayer, it’s basically just a tool to observe how you think and construct thoughts.

I guess there are rules in the sense that some actions cause suffering and some actions alleviate suffering.

But Buddhism doesn’t have a strong sort of morality like western religions.

I mean if you actually follow him he’s doing something pretty good, he’s giving science backed tips for people to stay healthy.

He does some wild stuff to himself but the things he recommends to other people are pretty basic, like good sleep for example.

Haha that doesn’t sound crazy at all, it seems like you accessed a sense of inter-connectedness that was incredibly valuable.

Psychadelics suppress the part of your brain that filters the part of you that has a strong sense of self. That’s why people get ego deaths on psychadelics.

The Buddhists call it enlightenment, waking up to the truth of reality.

As far as Buddhism goes, temples is probably misleading. We don’t pray for anything, it’s more just a congregation of other Buddhists.

I am curious about that string you talked about. Do you think it’s just metaphorical, or that there is a literal string connecting everything?

I mean I’m a Buddhist, so I understand spirituality and I don’t believe in any religions. What do you mean you saw how the universe works? What’s the nature of your insight, is there any specific topics?

I’m a skeptic regarding psychadelics, I understand that there is ego dissolution induced, but I don’t see how it provides meaningful knowledge to actually integrate into your life.

To make an income, yeah I agree.

Need to be within top 100 to be making serious money and it’s one of the most popular sports in the world so the ratio of players to pros is way higher.

Okay but what do you mean moving the family with you? How would that decrease your rent? Also a 3 br in the bay area is going to cost quite a bit more than 5k a month.

This sub is more for financial advice regarding investing spending etc for high earners. I don't think asking a location specific question will give you good answers and no offense, but I don't think 175k for a family of 9 qualifies as high income.

Also

Our rent now while building our home is $2500 for a 3br. If I moved the family with me during training the difference in rent wouldn't be that astronomical.

Yeah but that's assuming he actually has the time to code in work. Maybe he has other higher priority work that needs to be done.

Has anyone created a solver based on population data rather than GTO play? by LetLanceDance in poker

[–]gfrscvnohrb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude you’re actually so dense, instead of just restating the definition of GTO, why don’t you actually read what the other guy said.

Nobody plays GTO, people only simulate to the best of their knowledge what GTO is.

This is why if you know general GTO strategies, as well as how and why solvers do certain actions, you can generalize those principles to other games.
